A Highland Christmas and a Giveaway!!

Ah, Christmas…love it or hate it, you can’t deny how pretty it is. All those twinkling lights, candy canes, tinsel, and sparkly reindeers. Not to mention the air waves filled with catchy Christmas carols you can’t help humming when you hear them. All. Day. Long.   I am one of those people who love Christmas. And in my household, I do almost all of it—outside decorations, inside decorations, gift buying, elf re-positioning (those of you with kids will understand this), and most of the shopping. Rumor has it, I may even stuff my own stocking with my favorite chocolate treats!  My husband likes opening presents with the kids on Christmas morning and eating our big Christmas dinner (and afternoon football), but if he didn’t have us, I’m pretty sure his only nod to the festive season would be a chocolate Santa he bought for himself at the drug store and the turkey dinner at Swiss Chalet.  I decided a while ago, that I’m okay with that. Christma...

Only Four Shopping Days Left Until Christmas!

This year, I'm taking the season one day at a time, trying not to stress or bitch or moan. Just keep plowing on through it. Raise your hands if you can relate. I got the tree up on the 9th, and wrapped presents on the 14th. At least, those I had already bought. Christmas presents for my eldest son are kinda tough this year because he now lives clear across the country in California and doesn't want to have to take stuff home with him on the plane. Getting packages delivered to him at his workplace instead of his apartment wasn't the solution, because they tried to deliver one of them on a Saturday when no one was there. *sigh* But I keep trying... Making candy is next. I'm trying my hand at chocolate truffles this year. They may not turn out very pretty, but eating the ugly ones should be no hardship on anyone. 😁 I have a new release coming January 29th, (Cat Star Legacy #2: Mystic ) so of course I have posts to write for the blog tour by the second of Janua...

A Little Christmas Cheer and a Cover Reveal!

Oh my goodness! I feel like I’ve been stuck on some amusement park ride all year. You know. The one that yanks you high in the air then drops you like a sack of potatoes and sometimes does a lot of wild loops. But I did it. I released five books and I’m pretty proud of that.  But now, I'm feeling a bit old and worn out.  So, Christmas is almost upon us with just a few more days left. I don’t do a lot of decorating. My tree is in the attic and that’s where it’ll stay. (I’m referencing the old and worn out part here.)  For the last 30 years no matter what, I’ve always put my Christmas angel out. She’s getting a bit frazzled (like me) but still looks beautiful. I also decorate my dining table. This year, it’s candles and poinsettia. I lit the candles the other night when I ate and took a picture. It brightened up my spirits and put a warm glow in my heart. I thought my French doors leading to my patio needed some cheer too. No one will see ...

Next Up? Christmas!

Picture I took of a nutcracker in the German shop at Disney World, one of the table setting for Christmas last year, and the old rocking horse and decorated tree this year. I'm ready. Are you? Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! And if you need a little Christmas: Excerpt from Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas Owen couldn’t believe his luck. Candice Mayfair was the beautiful white wolf he’d seen that day so long ago. Not that she looked like a wolf right now. He only knew she was the wolf, unequivocally, because he recognized her scent. After the initial shock of seeing an unfamiliar and intriguing Arctic she-wolf, he’d gone after her. The whole pack had gone on a run that night, but they knew to stay far away from any campsite. He and the other guys had swum across the river to explore a bit. Cameron and his mate had stayed on the other side with the kids. He’d even swum back across the river to find her and discovered her scent had led right to one...

A Little Holiday Inspiration

I confess, I've been in a bit of a writing slump.  I try to write, but I am easily distracted by any shiny object that comes my way.  It's hard to get my tush in the chair and just focus and write. One thing I do love, especially at this time of year, are the short holiday romances.  I love to read them-short, sweet, full of holiday magic.  I also like to write them, but lately it's been challenging to find the motivation. So this year I decided to do things backwards.  Usually, I will write a story, then look for a cover.  This time, I decided I needed a little motivation first.  So voila!  Here is the cover for my new Christmas short story, Miss Devine's Christmas Wish! What is Miss Devine's Christmas wish?  I suppose I'm going to have to write the story to find out!  Now that I have a beautiful cover, I am getting inspired to write the story.  I know it's a bit backwards, but getting the cover first has inspired me! If y...
