Magic of Scotland and Rainbows and A Silver Wolf Christmas Release in Just a Few Days!

Magical Rainbow, mist and reflection of Eilean Donan Castle in loch I thought how pretty the mist was the morning we left and was happily taking pictures when I realized a misty rainbow arched over the castle. Funny thing was the day before, I’d said how it would be fun to capture a rainbow over a castle.  And we’d never seen Eilean Donan in the mist either, so I thought that was just so pretty, mystical, and fairy-like. Rainbow over mountains We saw another rainbow while we were on a bus, but not sure mine came out. Couldn’t find it. It was amazing that with all the clouds, mist, and sun, we didn’t see more. But I was glad we saw a few. Found it on my phone. We saw this one from the bus in Edinburgh. A rainbow makes everyday a little more magical. And a Goodreads Book Giveaway! A Silver Wolf Christmas release is coming soon!! Goodreads Book Giveaway A Silver Wolf Christmas by Terry Spear Giveaway ends October 05, 2015. See the giveaway...

Magic Gone Wild is Unleashed on the (Unsuspecting) World!

And the world hasn't been the same since... This is the third installment of my Bottled Magic series about genies, and in this one, well, let's just say that maybe it's not exactly the world that's never been the same, but a certain town in northeast PA hasn't been. Not for the past hundred plus years. See, that's when Vana, a genie who kinda, well, sorta, maybe, skipped out on her genie training, and might have caused just the teensiest tiniest bit of trouble for the master who'd brought her to his home town. Okay, maybe big trouble. From the vanishing staircase, to the bear who showed up at a luncheon, to the flying berries, rolling gristmill, and let us not forget the ugly rose-colored window she'd zapped into the church, Vana's magic had been wreaking havoc for her master, giving him the sad legacy of being known as a crazy man. Her new master, Zane Harrison, is out to change all of that. He lived with that legacy until his family moved o...

Heat Miser

Okay, so who's singing? You know: "I'm Mr.... " oops, guess I can't post the lyrics. Copyright violation. So I'll just point you to this (and let them worry about the copyright): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbfgVEk-mxQ But as I look at all these summery posts, my inner Heat Miser rears his red-headed head. I hate summer. I know, I know, I'm odd. Trust me, I've heard it all. I hate the heat. I hate to sweat. I hate mowing the lawn. Give me winter and some snow to shovel and I'm thrilled, but make me have to slather on SPF 50 and carry around one of those personal cooling devices (which a Child has commandeered, so there goes that little bit of relief), actually have to wear shoes because I'll burn my soles... No thank you. Plus, we have kids home who are "bored" (seriously? how can you be bored? There are chores to do, a LAWN to mow... Really? Bored? Come talk to mama, kiddos. I'll show you how un-bored you can be) ...

Do you believe in magic?

"Just when I think I don't know where a story is headed, some tiny detail comes back to me, and it takes on a life of its own." If anyone was ever going to quote me on something, that would be the quote I'd like for them to use because it describes my writing process to a T. How often have I given a character a particular skill or talent that I had no particular plans for, but just when I think I've lost my way, I suddenly remember that trait and, voila! the answer pops into my head. It's as though the secret to the saving of the day was there all along, just biding its time, waiting for me to see it. When that happens, the rest of the tale simply clicks into place and all I have to do is write it. That's happened to me several times during the writing of Hero , my current WIP. Sometimes I get stuck and I have to leave it for a few days, but during that time, my brain has been chipping away at the problem so that when I come back to it, the answer is right...
