How About Some Videos & A Giveaway? by Sara Humphreys

I am on serious deadline and my four boys are home this week on February break. Awesome. To make it even more interesting, my oldest boy is leaving for England on Wednesday as part of a 10 day student exchange program for select seniors. I'm excited for him but moderately terrified as well. He's been diabetic since he was 2 1/2 and this is the first time he's really going away. Needless to say, this week I'm on major overload so instead of a loooonnnnggg wordy post, how about some videos and a giveaway? I'm giving away this 2013 wall poster.  To be entered to win all you have to do is leave a comment and tell me which video you liked the best. Post by Sunday, February 25th at 11:59pm to qualify. I made all of the video trailers for my books and had a blast doing it. Enjoy! Amoveo Legend Series Tall, Dark, & Vampire  (Book 1 Dead in the City) Dream on....

An Excerpt of UNTAMED and a Giveaway!

I am so excited and can't believe that the release of  UNTAMED  is just a little over a week away! This is the third book in the Amoveo Legend series and it's a bit different than the first two,  UNLEASHED  (#1) and   UNTOUCHED  (#2) which are available now. In this installment, the heroine is a hybird (half human-half Amoveo) but she knows what she is and has zero interest in some Amoveo man coming along and dragging her off like some caveman. William is a hopelessly  uptight attorney and while he believes in their pre-destined mating, he was never convinced that love was real. However, when he finds his mate...all bets are off and the poor man is befuddled. The series is about the Amoveo, a secret society of dream-walking, telepathic shape-shifters made up of 10 different animal clans and they are in search of their one true mate. They can only have children with their mate and if they don’t find their mate by the age of thirty they begin to ...

Is it Different Enough??? & Copy of Free Book!

At Skye McKye's Thoughts Over Coffee , drop by and post a comment for free chance at a copy of Destiny of the Wolf! When I'm writing a new book, this is something I'm always concerned about. Is the new story different enough? The hero and heroine new? The plot unique? The setting different? I work at a library and I hear, "Do you have a writer who writes like this person?" Which is the good side of the equation. It means the author has fans and they're not getting enough of her books to satisfy a need. But what we don't want to hear is, "I quit reading this author's works because it was the same old story. Same plot. Same characters. Same setting. I got tired of them." And in a series where the characters have to be the same, "No growth in the characters. Same old characteristics, faults and I was tired of the same old stuff going on in book after book." I know when I read a story, I want it to be new. I want the characters to have...

Sexy Shapeshifters

by Terry Spear Woohoo, it's my birthday!! So have a piece of chocolate (only chocolate will do) cyber birthday cake on me!!! Now a word about sexy shapeshifters~~ Years ago, I wrote a futuristic where the heroine shapeshifts into a panther and her brother, a dragon. So that was my first shapeshifter story. But I finally decided on werewolves. In part, because I loved reading mythology and legends when I was growing up, and partly because I loved Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London. The images he created for me about wolves stuck with me all those years, and I didn’t even realize it until I was asked so many times, why werewolves? Because wolves can see better, hear better, sense smells better, run better…yet in some ways are like our steadfast companion dogs. Okay, so Little Red Riding Hood comes to mind too. “All the better to see you with, my dear…” Or something to that effect. :) But when I was creating my werewolf world, I wanted something that was as believable as...

Don't Cry, wait, DESTINY OF THE WOLF! Coming March 1st!!

Okay, Don't Cry Wolf miracously transformed from a orange hues book cover into a cool blue Destiny of the Wolf . Like it? I LOVE it. What about you? I'd say the destiny of the wolves has got to be assured, if all the guys have abs like these. Sigh. :) Destiny of the Wolf is coming March 1st!! :) All she wants is the truth… Lelandi Wildhaven is determined to discover the truth about her beloved sister’s mysterious death. But everyone thinks she’s out to make a bid for her sister’s widowed mate… He’s a pack leader tormented by memories... Darien Silver blames himself for his mate’s death. When her twin arrives in his town, he finds himself bewitched, and when someone attempts to silence her, he realizes that protecting the beautiful stranger might be the only way to protect his pack… and himself… Praise for Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf: “The vulpine couple’s chemistry crackles off the page.” —Publisher’s Weekly “Centers on pack problems in a refreshingly straightforward way...

Don't Cry Wolf Video Trailer

There's something to be said about any species who truly care about one another--not that there's this primal urge to mate with another and that's the extent of the relationship--like in so many kinds of animals. Procreation of the species, a biological urge, nothing more. But like with wolves that for the most part mate for life, it's really nice to know that some species feel so close to one another when they choose a mate, it's forever. :) So I dedicate the Don't Cry Wolf video book trailer to any species of animal that takes their mate relationship seriously--and loves them forever. :) Terry, who is still taking care of a sick mother, who is getting better though, because she's demanding lots more...LOL...... Life is Just Getting in the Way!!!

I'm so sorry I'm so late in posting, and that I haven't been commenting on posts, but life is just impossible right now. I took my mother in for surgery Wednesday, finally got her home yesterday afternoon, and she's so sick I may have to take her back to the hospital. I've spent all morning on the phone trying to get her something to take to stop the nausea, and I'm afraid, playing catch up, I'm behind on everything. Course, that's when I get bear orders, and everything else. Still not half unpacked, and well, everything is turned upside down as usual. Working on getting endorsements for Don't Cry Wolf and it's coming out March 1st!!! So that's the highlight in my life! Don't you love the cover??? Hopefully October things will begin to settle down! Hope everyone is having a pleasant Monday!!! :) Terry, the Overwhelmed http://www.terryspear.com/ Heart of the Wolf, Don't Cry Wolf (Mar 1), Betrayal of the Wolf, Allure of the Wolf

Moving Nightmare--& Don't Cry Wolf Bright Spot!

I'm in the middle of the move from hell...ever have one of those? Actually over the years I've had several. One time we were in the middle of nowhere when the U-Haul truck my dad was driving broke down. No fixing it. We had to wait at a service station for hours before U-Haul could deliver another truck as big as the one we had--the one with the storage above the cab even. My dad was one of these perfectionists. And so when we had loaded the truck, it was done perfectly. Now, in the middle of some small town at a gas station, we had to unload everything, and reload it---only with some big guys' help, and they did it the way they wanted to. All wrong. Heavy stuff needs to go into the part near the cab. Everything was loaded backwards. Then another time, it was like the old days--Conestoga Wagon time...in the middle of the mountains somewhere--hey, I was a kid...all I know is at that point we had a car and we were hauling a big U-Haul trailer. The engine began heating really ...

Wolves in Peril

I thought Linda's post about folks contacting her concerning story ideas was a pretty neat blog, so I wanted to share that I've had several emails from fans who wanted me to know about the fact wolves are being delisted--hunters can now shoot them because they're no longer on the endangered list in areas such as the Rocky Mountains, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Of course this impacts on my stories, because before this, wolves were protected in some areas, so my werewolves had immunity also, as long as hunters just didn't shoot them anyway for sport. But now in some areas, during hunting season, or not , werewolves can be targeted in their wolf suits. Oregon still hasn't delisted them, though hunters have shot and killed wolves there. When I lived in Oklahoma, hunters had exterminated the black bear. Then hunting of bear wasn't permitted. Arkansas didn't permit the hunting of bear so when their numbers increased, the bears got smart and moved to Oklahoma. We ...
