This could be my desk. The jaguar pictures on the calendar and the reader are ones I've taken. The one on the laptop is a composite I created. I have too much fun with this.

I spend months writing and researching, months editing and then I'm off to the next project and the next and the next and all of a sudden, this book is out so you can fall in love with a jaguar too!!!

Excerpt from You Had Me at Jaguar:

Howard was trying his darnedest not to look in Valerie Chamber’s direction. Not that he would have ever revealed to her that he’d been attracted to her the first time he’d seen her in advanced training as an Enforcer. He still couldn’t believe his boss had asked him and Jillian Greystoke to watch her back, surreptitiously. She was a striking redhead, with the prettiest green eyes, and when she’d pinned him down once during training, the wickedest smile he’d ever seen. He couldn’t help smiling back at her.

The three branches—the Enforcers, JAG, and Guardians—all had a common mission—take down jaguar shifters who posed a threat to humans and shifters alike. Though he and Jillian were with a special section of the JAG now—the USF—that dealt with jaguar/wolf issues, they were the only two agents who had a break in cases. And since Howard was a former Enforcer, the boss felt he would be right for the job. The branches would work together when necessary, but usually all of the agents involved would be well-aware of the situation.

Jillian was a gray wolf and mated to Vaughn, who was busy tracking down a murderous wolf, along with the two other team members of the USF. They hadn’t needed Jillian and Howard also.

Jillian got another text, the fourth one in a half hour. She texted back.

Howard didn’t have to guess who it was from. “Vaughn should have taken you with him.”

“This guy is supposed to be a lot less violent than the one the team is trying to track down. At least as far as the general population is concerned. His wife is another story.”

“I still wish Martin had allowed us to tell Val that we are here, watching her back.”

“The boss said she doesn’t like working with anyone else. Since most Enforcers work alone, she’d feel her boss thought she couldn’t handle the case on her own. How well do you know her?”

“I’ve been in training with her before. Never worked with her though. She’s got some kick-ass moves.”

Jillian smiled at him. “Did she ever take you down?” 

He gave her a dark smile back. “Not that I’d ever admit to.”

I love writing about the jaguars and the wolves, and when they finally learn about each other, their world changes. It's not just about their kind being on their own, but they have "cousin" shifters, so to speak. And it's time they help each other out.

 But they're inherently different--the wolves mating for life, the jaguars catting around. The wolves are family-oriented, the jaguars are loners. The wolves chase and take down when they're hunting, the jaguars stalk and ambush. But they all are half human too, and that changes some of their innate animal instincts. In other words, the jaguars get their happily ever afters too. Only...they have to really work for it, just like the wolves do.
