I say cowboy, you say...

I did a little survey and asked people to tell me the first word or short phrase that came to their mind when I said COWBOY!

Some of them said things I expected. Other’s came up with whole new thoughts. So I said cowboy, they said...

 Sexy;  Attitude with sex appeal
Future Husband
Boots
Wranglers; butts, drives me nuts

Horses
Quiet Strength
Stetson
Ranch

Cowboy Up!

Sam Elliott
Belt Buckles
Cowgirls
Chivalry
Carolyn Brown...she writes about them!; Stories
(Love those two answers)

Other answers included HOT!; strong hands, soft heart; hunk; Tombstone; football (I do believe that came from a guy and he was talking about Dallas Cowboys); rugged; hubba; ride 'em; sexonastick-one word!; western; cowgirl; hard headed, hard to get to know; naked; hot and bothered; independent; charming; and Todd Morgan (who happens to be my son-in-law). My favorite so far has been--It isn't a word but a VISION I get when I read the word.
So I say cowboy, you say...

To those who say, your name will be put into the famous Stetson and one lucky winner will be drawn at the end of the day for a signed copy of One Hot Cowboy Wedding!

  2. LOL, I loved this post! I remember when my mother complained when they had a slew of westerns and nothing else one year, or a few, can't remember. Then it was all police shows. Now all fantasy!

I love it all, but I want to see westerns again! Thanks for the fun post, Carolyn!

  3. Hi Suzan, thank you, thank you for loving my cowboys! I forgot to provide drooling bibs with the post! Will do better next time. LOL

  4. Good mornin' Terry! Movies, television shows and books do tend to run in cycles. Glad you enjoyed the cowboys this morning! And I'd be right happy if they did bring back more westerns with a little modern day twist to them, of course! I loved Justified and am looking forward to the new Vegas one!

  5. You say cowboy, and I say RODEO!
Or Silverado (the truck OR the movie)
Although Sam Elliot is still a darn good answer.
    Fun post, Carolyn! Ride 'em!

  6. Hi Miz Cheryl...good answers! Trucks and cowboys are as inseparable as cowboys and boots!

  7. Love your post, Carolyn, loved the responses. BTW, and now I know why you posted the question the other day. You my dear are a genius. :) I'd like to add one more to your list, the one that's in my mind when I'm writing: The Cowboy is the Quintessential American Hero. :)

  8. Good mornin' Ch! Yes, ma'am. You got it on the button...but it'd take a lot of pictures to portray that cowboy!

  9. You say cowboy, and I say... YES! Gimme the quintessential American hero, our chivalric icon on a handsome steed--a guy who dances, wears plenty of leather, and isn't stingy with his smiles.

Knows how to use a gun but doesn't have to show it off, capable in the wilderness, plays a mean lonesome guitar, and isn't scared of snakes, wolves, or lonely wimmen.

A cowboy for Christmas sounds perfect!

  22. Sianny, don't have any translated into Spanish yet but maybe someday there'll be one of my cowboys and you can tell me what the words say. The strangest looking ones so far have been Estonian and Russian. Even without my Texas brogue I don't think I could make my mouth say those words!

  26. Hello, Erin: Yes, ma'am they do have a double portion of confidence and what they lack they make up for in good old fashioned BS! LOL

  27. I say hardworking. They have to start working early in the morning and then they work until supper time, taking a little time for lunch.

Thank you for making me put my thinking cap on.

  32. Nightowl: Cowboys do conjure up visions of sex appeal, don't they? Something about all that masculinity just brings it out.
