Pretty Covers with Marie

Today, since I'm late putting up my post (dratted West Coast time!) I thought I'd share some of my ARC cover flats for my Body Shop Bad Boys series. And my favorite McCauley covers below... Enjoy! Coming in June, Test Drive Coming in September, Roadside Assistance And those amazing McCauleys ... Welcome to the rough-and-tumble McCauley family, a tight-knit band of four bachelor brothers who work hard, drink beer, and relentlessly tease each other. When three independent women move in next door, all hell breaks loose.

Marie and The Very Bad Interview

I wrote this blog two years ago, but it's so relevant to what I'm doing now that I wanted to share it again. It has to do with research, and since I'm currently researching the heck out of my current characters for my next Sourcebooks series, I wanted to share the laugh. (And for the record, there is A LOT to know about the worlds of automechanics and nurses.) Note: I wrote this post while doing research for How to Handle a Heartbreaker. I thought I’d talk about research today. I write steamy romance, and one of the most common questions I get from people is how I do my research. My usual instinct is to answer with something sarcastic, like, “Why, I just had a foursome the other day. I can honestly admit   that you can fit many things in places you never thought you could.” Or, “Why yes. I did just enjoy sex with a werewolf in the backseat of my Benz while a vampire watched.” I mean, really. I’ve had sex. Yes. There. I admit it. I’ve also read a lot and seen se...

Deleted Scenes

It's so much hard work writing a novel. Fun, yet demanding. When I write, I expect every word to count. Then when I edit, I realize some words don't mean what I thought they meant, that "teh" looks just like "the" when I've read over it a bunch, and that some scenes just have to go. I thought I'd share one such scene I had to delete from The Troublemaker Next Door . There's nothing wrong with the scene. It totally works by itself and shows that Abby and Brody, the couple who are front and center in the next book, How to Handle a Heartbreaker , have real spark. But leaving it in book one messed with the flow, slowed down the story, and frankly took away a little from Maddie and Flynn's romance. But I still love that scene, so here it is. Enjoy! Setup: Abby and Brody are at a dance club with their friends, watching Maddie and Flynn on the dancefloor. Abby chewed her lower lip. “Doesn’t that hurt?” Brody’s deep voice broke her ...

New Release: What to Do with a Bad Boy

The End has Come. I can’t believe the last book in my series is already here. It seems like the first one just came out. Oh yeah, it did. In June. *grin* I’m a sucker for series romance. I especially love to have a series all tied up, so I’m happy to say that all the McCauleys found their happily-ever-afters. There are no hanging plots, no unresolved issues the McCauleys need to handle. And if you’re like me and like to have all your books in the same format, you don’t have to wait for ebook or print. They release at the same time. Yeah, I’m a bit weird about that. It freaks me out to have a series of mixed formats, ebook and print. Either all ebook or all print. Mixing? Ack.(So sometimes when I can't wait and order an ebook, I then turn around and buy it in print to complete my series. I know. I'm warped. LOL) I will say ebooks have saved my tendency to hoard paperbacks. And yes, I’m way off track, but as a writer and reader, I swing wildly in favor of r...
