Launch Party for Tall, Dark, and Vampire with Sara Humphreys

The release of Tall, Dark, and Vampire is finally here and I'm so excited for readers to meet my vampires in NYC. The best way to describe my new series is...Sex in the City meets True Blood.

The promo tour for TDV has gotten off to a smashing start and there are many more blogs, interviews and book signings to come. You can get the full list of events here.  In fact, things continue tonight
from 8pm-9pmEST I'm chatting live at Discover a New Love with my buddy Terry Spear. We'll be talking about all things shifter and vamp and giving away so fab prizes, so be sure to come by.

Here's a bit about my NYC vamps....Enjoy!

She always knew Fate was cruel...
The last person Olivia expected to turn up at her club was her one true love. It would normally be great to see him, except he's been dead for centuries. Olivia really thought she had moved on with her immortal life, but as soon as she sees Doug Paxton, she knows she'd rather die than lose him again. And that's a real problem...
But this is beyond the pale...
Doug is a no-nonsense cop by day, but his nights are tormented by dreams of a gorgeous redhead who's so much a part of him, she seems to be in his blood. When he meets Olivia face-to-face, long-buried memories begin to surface. She might be the answer to his prayers...or she might be the dead of him

The word seemed silly, almost comical, and yet that was all Doug could think as the guy got right in his face and bared his teeth. He had freaking fangs, and a second later he drove them into Doug’s neck. It was like getting stabbed with a million tiny needles all over his body.
His skin burned, and his blood seemed to boil, but before long the pain was replaced by an odd sensation of floating and the vague awareness that he was being bitten over and over again. The guy was chewing on him like a damn steak. His back scraped against the bricks as he slid down the wall, while this crazy freak chewed on his neck. Just as his leaden eyelids fluttered closed, he heard her.
“Consider that your last meal.”
The creature released him, spun around, and hissed. It was Olivia.
Olivia was here? Doug coughed, and the coppery
taste of blood covered his mouth. He wanted to scream, to warn her to get the fuck out of there, but not a single part of his body would cooperate as he sat slumped against the wall. A split second later, a gunshot blasted through the alley and his attacker let out an ungodly shriek and exploded into flames.
As ashes fell over him like snow, the last sight he saw was his redheaded goddess, looming over him with a look of concern, a set of bright white fangs, and a big-ass gun. As Doug slipped into unconsciousness, he heard her whisper, “Forgive me.”
