And thanks to reviewers like RT Magazine that had a lot of nice things to say about Dreaming of the Wolf, releasing December 1!

Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

REVIEW: In the eighth in her Werewolf series, Spear gives us a love-at-first-sight romance with intense and almost immediate lovemaking that really works with her fascinating characters and exciting action-packed crime drama plot. A great fantasy twist and yet another way to interpret the legend of weres.

Sub pack leader Jake Sliver is in Breckenridge, Colo., to drop off of his photography at a gallery when he catches sight of a woman staking out two deadly criminal types. She more than intrigues him, she turns him on.

Alicia Greiston is a bounty hunter, only this hunt is personal. She’s after the mob men who had her mother killed. She’s also attracted the interest of a certain Jake Silver, who offers her his protection, which pleases her as she’s used to taking care of herself. She and Jake enter into a torrid affair which proves to be impossible to escape from, but they’re also on a crash course with disaster in the form of the mob. If they survive, will the feelings they have for each other survive too? (SOURCEBOOKS, Dec., 384 pp., $7.99)

Heart of the Highland Wolf (Book 7), Dreaming of the Wolf, (Book 8, Dec 1), A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing (Book 9, Mar 1)

And thanks to Danielle for setting up an interview and review with USA Today for December!!! I'm so excited! She's really got me scheduled up for December for a Dreaming of the Wolf tour--one of the fun blogs? What would my hero do as he's Christmas shopping? I can't wait to sit down and write it.

And thanks to Deb and everyone else at Sourcebooks who makes sure that the books are great reads!!! I'm still waiting for Deb to put me on her list of male model reviewers, despite that she's doing a great job without me!

I would be remiss if I didn't also thank my fellow Casa Babe authors who are there for all of us! I can't say enough about how proud I am of all their accomplishments, USA Today best sellers, NY Times best sellers, RT top picks, PW's top picks and the other tons of accolades that our authors have earned that I can't think of off the top of my head. Keep on winning with your great books!

My family who cheer me on! And my critique partners, the Rebel Romance Writers, who also are behind me 100% and are my first readers as I plod along in my quest for completion.

And thanks to my librarian coworkers who are also so supportive!

And lastly to Jack London, whose tales about wolves in The Call of the Wild and White Fang encouraged me to write my wolves the way that I do.

But back to my earlier question: Would you take a chance with one of the wolfish hunks featured in the above covers? And which one would you prefer and why?

  2. Thanks so much, Carol!!! A Highland Wolf Wedding is the sequel to Heart of the Highland Wolf and it's Duncan's story, set in the Grand Cayman Islands, coming out next fall! He's SUPPOSED to be there strictly on a mission--get their stolen money back--but when he sees a lone female wolf at the airport, he becomes a little distracted. As the youngest brother and a real warrior type, that never happens to him. I had so much fun with him. I think you'll enjoy it! I need to write Cearnach's story next. :)

  8. Eli, yeah, he's scrumptious. And to think he has two brothers that are his triplets that as yummy as he does! He really has a come hither look about him, don't you think?

Thanks, Carolyn! I asked when Heart of the Wolf first came out why they had to cut off the head??? So I'm glad to see some sexy faces to go with the sexy bodies!! I also love the small smile, the way he looks at me...uhm, all of us, as if he's up for some fun times. :) Thanks again!

  9. Oh they are all gorgeous and I couldn't pick just one. You have wonderful covers. I remember reading both those books as a child and they left a big impression.

  10. I so agree, Catslady! I read them when I was young also, so when I was mentioning them in an interview, the interviewer said she'd read them also. What about them influenced me?

So I had to get them from the library to remember exactly what about them had so influenced me, and as I began to reread them, one of the scenes stood out:
A wolf pup in his point of view was exploring his surroundings. His siblings had died, his father was gone, his mother was off hunting--at least I'm pretty sure that's the setup. But it was seeing the world through his eyes as a wolf that subconsciously made me think of wolves, and werewolves as not just beastly animals. :) They are playful, and curious, and wary.

  11. I have to choose?? You got some sweet covers! Of course I love a Highlander, and then I've always been partial to a military man. Congrats on your fabulous reviews!

  12. Thanks, Amanda, and I so agree. Military men and Highlanders...both can go commando! :)

  13. Those covers are all of them appealing. However, my attention keeps getting drawn back to A Seal in Wolf's Clothing.

    Congrats on the great reviews!

  15. Thanks, Lil...is it his eyes...or something else???

Okay a comment made by one of my coworkers--he's cold. How can anyone tell? :) That's the REAL question of the day!

    I so agree, Shana!

  16. Congrats on all the well deserved promo and the positive reviews, Terry. When you combined a Highlander with a shifter, that was about the peak of paranormal fun for me. Glad to see you have yet still more ideas for the series. I'll bet you were just dedicated enough to go do some original research in the Caymen Islands, too, weren't you?

  17. LOL, Grace! Truth is I've been there and I kept thinking what a wonderful tale if I could use it for the setting for my wolves. Even one of the scenarios I described really happened: hint: man Duncan sees in the lobby of the hotel where he's supposed to be registering, and of course I took the pirate cruise and walked the plank, the sting ray snorkeling trip, and the sunset sail. It was really the PERFECT place for the story. And made it all the more hot! Thanks so much!
