Seduced by the Wolf is Here!

Woohoo! Seducing Leidolf is here! Or is it Seducing Cassie? I believe there's a lot of both going on in Portland and the surrounding area. I have to tell you that the lettering is embossed silver, and very, very nice!

I had a blast writing their story. First, it was inspired by a true story where a wolf biologist came across a she-wolf who'd lost her mate and had a litter of pups to raise on her own. They were so young, that without a pack to help her feed and protect them, they most likely wouldn't have survived. With his help, the biologist took them to a safe place and while the biologist had her penned up with her pups, a storm knocked down a tree and some of the pups escaped. But they found their way back into the pen, and eventually, a male wolf came along who took care of the pups whenever they ventured beyond the pen, until the whole kit and kaboodle left the pen as a new pack. Even though the pups weren't his, the alpha male adopted them and took the she-wolf for his mate. So how is that for a true wolf romance??? I loved it, and knew it had to be the basis for a werewolf book!!!

Now how romantic is that? Very touching to me when I read it. I still felt badly that the alpha male was killed by a poacher. But I was so glad it had a happily ever after.

So Cassie Roux becomes a wolf advocate as a wolf biologist whose goal in life is to educate about wolves and share their plight. In Seduced by the Wolf, Leidolf Wildhaven first attends a lecture given by Cassie Roux, only he doesn't know she's a werewolf at heart. Still, her love of wolves and his concern that she's spotted one of his own pack members in his or her wolf coat, makes her someone to watch. Only, it goes way beyond watching as Leidolf finds her in a world of danger, and he discovers she's not only a wolf biologist, but a little red wolf. And now the game REALLY begins.

All month long, I'll be celebrating the release of Seduced by the Wolf--from talking about misbehaving characters to what other fun I have besides writing. There's OTHER fun to be had???

And Sourcebooks will be giving away copies of the book at many of the blog stops. So be sure and drop by and answer my thought-provoking questions. At least they were thought provoking for me when I had to come up with something!!! But the good news is, not only am I at My Overstuffed Bookshelf today and giving away a free book, but I'm giving away one here today also!!! And at Seriously Reviewed also. Plus a couple of more blog date giveaways will be added soon. :)

And the reviews are coming in!!!
A new review!! 5 Stars!
"Between the romance, the paranormal and the suspense, I finished this book so fast that I wanted to start reading it again! Did I mention how much I love this series?" --Amy J of My Overstuffed Bookshelf

4.75!! NOR Top Pick: You will find yourself lusting after the sexy alpha hero and cheering for the heroine when she finds a family to love. ~~Robin of Night Owl Reviews
4.5!!
"There’s no better recommendation that I can make except to say, read Seduced By The Wolf, it’s a gripping and entertaining tale with a rich plot, dynamic characters and a love story sure to please."--Reviewed by Xeranthemum, Long and Short Reviews

4.5!!
Fangtastic Books "She knows how to make werewolves sexy and this book is definitely sexy and filled with plenty of action and adventure, along with twists and turns- enough to leave you breathless and wanting more."

Library Journal: Seduced by the Wolf: VERDICT--"Gently laced with just enough wolf detail and werewolf lore, this action-packed story crackles with mystery, adventure, violence, and passion; a worthy addition to Spear's beautifully imagined werewolf world."

Anna's Book Blog "Seduced by the Wolf is a fast, riveting novel of danger and romance. A fine addition to the series. Both Cassie & Leidolf in their own way are playing a game of seduction- that was quite fun to watch. Ms. Spear has creates unique werewolf stories that are hard to put down."

Cathy from Book Hounds: LOVED IT! As author Terry spear takes you through her world of wolf behavior and how it works in this Paranormal Romance, hang on for the ride. Each character has a story to reveal and getting them out into the open is an adventure though the Portland woods. While you are going through the loss, fear, love and hate with each new twist let us not forget the chase, we are after all following wolves!

I couldn't be happier with the reviews!!!

And I'm still glowing in all the firsts at the 2010 RWA National Conference--meeting Dominique Raccah, our publisher and CEO of Sourcebooks, and Danielle Jackson, our Sourcebooks publicist, meeting all the Sourcebooks authors, being a keynote speaker at the From the Heart Greet and Meet dinner, autographing books at the Literacy Signing and Sourcebooks signing, and dining with Dominique, my editor Deb, and Danielle for the first time at a Sourcebooks dinner--and giving an impromptu pitch to Deb outside the restaurant when we lost the rest of the ladies in the restaurant! Sharon Latham of Mr. Darcy fame, suggested all the new Sourcebook authors give a speech. One of the first time authors, I believe, recommended Sharon dance on the table. And Dominique was all for both. :) Neither of which we did. But I would have gotten pictures if Sharon had danced on the table! :) We did all introduce ourselves and it was fun hearing about all of the exciting stories the authors have in store for us!!!

Because of all the firsts, I will forever remember Orlando fondly! And I'm already looking forward to NYC!

Thanks to everyone for making it so special!

So my question is--Would you be able to resist Leidolf's seduction for very long? Or would you succumb at the drop off a hint???

Chance at free book if you comment, and I will announce winner on Sunday!

Have a super Tuesday, and hope to see some of you on the tour!

Thanks!!!

Terry

  5. Wow, I didn't know that part of Seduced was base off of a real wolf and her puppies. This is the reason that I love reading all of the blogs. You find out so many other interesting facts.

I honestly don't understand why Cassie resisted Leidolf's charms for so long. I know that I wouldn't have been able to hold out for so long. Things would have been so much easier if she would have fessed up to her own wolf nature and let him help her, but then it wouldn't have been such a fun adventure for us readers.

Congratulations on all of the wonderful review and on all of the future ones to come. It must be such a joy knowing that your work pleases so many people. I hope you find time in between the blogs to continue on with your other wolf tales.

  6. Thanks so much, Stephanie! I'm planning on writing on them this weekend. I have 2 more author spotlight blogs due this week, so need to get those done, and then...it's time to get back to the story!!! Stories! :) Let's see, what does Meara first do when she sees her brother's former SEAL team member? I'm sure it's not going to be a happy reunion!

And there's a Highlander on the move in paradise, getting awfully distracted by a botanist in a bikini...

*sigh*...yes, I've got to get back to writing!

  11. Whoo Hoo!!!!! Terry Spear is on a serious roll!!

Emily finished White Wolf long before we reached SFO. I had to dig her nose out of the thing and make her pack up to leave the hotel! If we had missed our flight it would have been your fault, Ms. Spear. LOL!!

Congrats on the fab reviews. I hope they keep coming. Wishing you a wonderful Launch Day and loads of success.

  12. Wow Terry, I didn't know you based that story on a real event. So cool.
And My hand is in the air waving my fan. Just thinking about Leidolf gets me overheated. That Wolfman can seduce the skin off a grape. That's why my grapes go into the freezer. I need them ice cold. I have the freezer restocked with grapes. I'm reading this story again. And I was delighted to see you together with The Catmaster at RWA. Thanks for the reminder. I need more Catnip. Cheryl's got the blog tour going on too. And It's going to be tough. Her Hero Trag and Leidolf are just too much Hawtness for this Diva.

  13. Congrats, Terry! It was great finally meeting you at RWA and I'm sure Leidolf and Cassie's story will be a great success. Good luck with your tour!

  14. Give Emily a hug for me, Sharon! I wouldn't have wanted you to miss your flight, but some things are ALMOST worth it. LOL!!! I hope she's enjoying Leidolf's story! :) Really good visiting with you at conference. I had so much fun!

One of my fans said that she left her wallet on the plane--and she only had enough money to buy two books, mine and CJ Ward's. Now, that's dedication! :) I loved it. The good news was the airline found her wallet and sent it back to her, but her husband in the meantime had shipped her money for the rest of the conference. Thanks to Boone, for allowing me to share her story!

LOL, Donna, too funny!!! You and grapes and all. That sounds like a line that should be in a book! Here's to hawt heroes!!!

Thanks so much, Danielle! I snapped a working photo of you to show just how dedicated you are to your work! :) I was thrilled to finally meet you in person!

  17. Thanks, Loni! I kept reading and reading, hoping for the best in the real wolf story, afraid it wouldn't have a HEA as so many don't. But was thrilled when it had a true romance in it...and that was it!

MarthaE, the rest of the package, hmmm, I loved that! :) I like that you'd have the strength to resist him and not succumb at the drop of a hint. He'd like that too! :)No challenge otherwise! Thanks for loving the story!
