Today I am celebrating the launch of my latest romance, HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOT. And one of my favorite things about my new novel is the hero, Highlander Alexander Waters. As I was writing about Alex and Catherine and their quest for true love, I asked myself, what do we want in a romantic hero?
I'm going to make a list here, but I would love it if you would continue it. Leave a comment with your answer below, and I'll put your name in the hat to win a signed copy of HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOT.
I want a romance hero to have:
1) A Sexy Voice
Catherine describes Alex's voice in a few ways: warm, deep, honeyed...the list goes on.
2) Beautiful Eyes
Alex has dark, chocolate brown eyes. Delicious.
3) A Beautiful Body
Alex Waters is well over six feet tall, with broad shoulders and long dark hair... well...he's gorgeous.
4) Gives Great Foot Rubs
After a very difficult and long day, Alex gives Catherine the first foot rub of her life. Let's just say it is a major hit.
5) A Hero Is A Man of His Word
Alex vows to protect and cherish Catherine even before they marry, and he holds to his word in that, and in everything. I think of all his stellar attributes, this one is my favorite.
And don't forget, tell us what you want most in a romantic hero in a comment below for a chance to win a signed copy of HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOT.
Description of the book:
Determined to see his hellion of a sister wed, Highlander Alexander Waters is willing to face anything-even the English. He just didn't expect his own rough manners to cause such a riot...or for a blooming English rose to catch his eye.
Gently bred Catherine Middlebrook must find a respectable man to marry or her family will be ruined. She won't allow herself to be distracted by Highland barbarians...no matter how her body may thrill whenever Alex is near.
Catherine wasn't part of the plan, but as their battle of wills escalates, Alex comes to realize this "proper" English girl is as wild as the Highlands themselves...and nothing will stop him from having her.
Ever since Christy English picked up a fake sword in stage combat class at the age of fourteen, she has lived vicariously through the sword-wielding women of her imagination. Sometimes an actor, always a storyteller, Christy works happily with Sourcebooks Casablanca to bring the knife-throwing women of her novels to life. A banker by day and a writer by night, she loves to eat chocolate, drink too many soft drinks, and walk the mountain trails of her home in western North Carolina.
