Deck the Halls

It's that time again. I'm seeing Christmas trees in my Facebook feed. It seems that a lot of people who have a tree put it up on or right after Thanksgiving. I'm not ready!
Oh, Christmas Tree...

I don't shop on Black Friday (or Thanksgiving). I don't decorate until the spirit moves me. I have to read a few Christmas romances to get in the mood. Watch a few Christmas shows and specials. Feel that nip in the New England air. Smell some fir trees. Then maybe.
Trying to get in the mood.

Maybe by December 15th, and then I'll have to rush to get it all done before my son comes home from college and my daughter comes to visit with her boyfriend. The tree. The stockings hung by the chimney with care. The presents. Yeah, it will get done. It will all get done. In time.

Are you decorated? Do you go all out or just a few decorations? Are you filled with the Christmas spirit? Ready to celebrate your holiday, Chanukah, Festivus? Is your shopping done?

    1. I love Thanksgiving. No gifts to give or get, just family love and gratitude. It's a beautiful day.

  2. I usually start decorating the Friday after Thanksgiving and go all out. Had eight trees last year! I'm waiting a while this year and will be keeping it more simple. I do have some shopping done, but still have a lot left to do. Love the hat!!

    2. You can have some of my spirit, Sherri! I love decorating and doing it big. It's the time to take it all down and put it away part that gets me in trouble!

  3. I collect things all year...and then I'm never ready when the holiday actually gets here, probably because I am trying so hard to ignore the decorations that seem to pop up earlier every year!

    1. Much too early to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, for me. December 1 seems about right.
