Secrets of a Scandalous Heiress Launch, Real-Life Romance, and Four Baths

So much to celebrate today! Happy 2015, everyone.

And to Mr. R, happy anniversary. Eleven years ago today, we said our vows. Eleven years ago today is also the last time, I think, that Mr. R voluntarily danced with me in public. Ahem.

But real-life romance comes in many forms other than rings and flowers and dances. Bringing home takeout when I'm on deadline? Romantic. Putting Little Miss R to bed so I can unwind at the end of the day? Romantic. I wrote in the acknowledgments to one of my books that I couldn't write heroes without Mr. R's example. Maybe that wasn't QUITE true, since writers can imagine all sorts of characters we've never encountered in person, but it's definitely true that I couldn't be a writer without Mr. R's support.

Speaking of writing (segue alert!), I'm also celebrating the launch of the final book in the Matchmaker trilogy, SECRETS OF A SCANDALOUS HEIRESS. It will hit stores in just a few days, on January 6!

The story stands on its own, but if you've read the first two Matchmaker books (IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE and TO CHARM A NAUGHTY COUNTESS), you'll meet some familiar characters.

SECRETS is a little different from my other historicals, since it's set entirely in the resort city of Bath. The hero and heroine aren't titled, the hero is biracial, the heroine doesn't fit into high society, and they both keep so many secrets they hardly know who to talk to. Fortunately, they figure out pretty quickly that the answer is "each other," and they forge an unlikely partnership that leads--you know what's coming--to attraction, and eventually to love.

I'll be sharing #ScandalousSecrets, hashtag and all, on Facebook, Twitter, and tsÅ« for the next week. Some have to do with the book, some are related to writing, and some are just for fun. I'll also be gallivanting around the web to share teasers and Q&As and guests posts; you can find the full lineup on the News page of my website.

Now for that "Four Baths" thing I mentioned in the post title. SECRETS OF A SCANDALOUS HEIRESS shares a release day with two other historical romances set mostly or completely in Bath: Shana Galen's novella THE VISCOUNT OF VICE, and Erin Knightley's novel THE EARL I ADORE. The three of us couldn't resist on putting together some Bath (or bath)-themed giveaways. There's a prize package from each of us, plus a grand-prize bundle of lots of books and a bath caddy. You can enter one, some, or all through the Rafflecopter on my blog. Erin and Shana will be sharing the same widget through their blogs and/or Facebook pages, so you can enter through any of those sites.

I hope 2015 brings you much happy reading!

Historical romance author Theresa Romain pursued an impractical education that allowed her to read everything she could get her hands on. She then worked for universities and libraries, where she got to read even more. Eventually she started writing, too. She lives with her family in the Midwest. Find her on:

    1. Thanks, Kim! Yes, we met in grad school. He was a teaching assistant; I was in the TA office chatting with a friend; he glared at me. The rest is history. :)
