Writer's Day Off

All summer long, I've been hard at work on The Great Estate (Thornbrook Park 3). I missed going to the beach, lounging at the pool, and baseball. Yes, baseball. (Writer does her job, misses playtime, cue the violins).

I'm a sports fan. I love going to games and matches. I have a feeling I'll be back at work on Book 3 any day now, but I took some much needed time off to catch a game-- and it was fantastic! What made it extra special is that we brought along our friends (Yankees fans) to show them Fenway Park. I dressed appropriately in uber fan gear.

I cheered madly, especially when Big Papi took the plate.

And my team still lost. But it didn't matter. We had so much fun!

What do you do on a perfect day off? Are you a sports fan? Tell me your team so I can root for them, too (unless they're playing one of my teams).

Edwardian romance: Thornbrook Park is out now. An Affair Downstairs (Thornbrook Park 2) comes out on January 6, 2015, and The Great Estate (Thornbrook Park 3) follows in August 2015.

  1. Tarheels all the way, baby!!! I realize you're referring to professional teams but when you live in Tarheel country, it's all about college basketball and football. And since I'm an alum, it's programmed in my DNA. So, Go Heels!

  2. I went to Mount Holyoke, women's college, our big sports were softball, soccer, field hockey, and it really wasn't the same at all. I missed out on having a big college team to support. Maybe I'll adopt yours. :)

  4. This is so boring, but if I had a day off, I'd sleep. I never sleep. Maybe I'd watch a movie after I woke up.

    1. Sleeping is good, Shana. When my kids were younger, I could never get enough sleep.
