play a modified version of what’s my line with you. I’ll post a few lines
from each of the first 5 chapters. You tell me your favorite in the comments—don’t
forget to leave your email—and one person who comments will win a copy of Love and Let Spy.

Chapter One
She did a quick calculation then dove out the window,
pulling her knees in so when she landed on the awning she would roll easily to
the edge. She held her breath for the free fall and felt the air whoosh out of
her when she hit the fabric.
But she didn’t roll.
Chapter Two
“I don’t care how beautiful or rich or bloody socially
acceptable she is,” Dominic said, turning fiercely from the drawing-room mantel.
“I am not marrying her.”
Chapter Three
He dipped his tongue between her lips and met her tongue with his.
The effect was electric. She jumped beneath him, and the shot of arousal he
felt was all but dizzying. He knew he must stop. This was a gentlewoman, the
niece of Lord Melbourne. He could not kiss her this way.
Chapter Four
She thought she remembered Q saying to wait a quarter of an hour.
Perhaps it had been three-quarters of an hour? Oh, bollocks! Jane did not have
time to waste. She would go and hope for the best. Nine out of ten of Q’s
inventions worked.
Jane stood at her window and looked down at the drop. Please let this be one of the nine.
Chapter Five
“Are you implying I am not a lady?” She took a menacing step
toward him, and though he did not retreat, she thought she saw a flicker of
concern in his eyes. “A piece of advice, Mr. Griffyn. A gentleman never even hints
that a woman is not a lady, no matter what insult she has given you.”
His brow arched. “I believe we’ve already established I am
no gentleman.”
Now you get to play! What was your favorite snippet? Answer in the comments and don't forget your email if you want to be considered for the giveaway. One more stipulation. Sorry but this is U.S./Canada only.

Those are so good but I liked chapter five - I love a feisty heroine, especially when the hero finally gets a taste of her power and independence and fears it, just a little!! Love it!!
ReplyDeletethebigbluewall77 (at) gmail (dot) com
Thanks, Anita! I love feisty heroines too.

Thank you, Crystal. Great to see you here.
DeleteI love the comment from chapter two:
ReplyDelete"I don't care how beautiful, or rich, or bloody socially acceptable she is," Dominic said, turning fiercely from the drawing-room mantle, " I am not marrying her."

DeleteWell, I loved Chapter 3. I'm into all this hot stuff, and you always write it so well. "He dipped his tongue between her lips and met her tongue with his. The effect was electric. She jumped beneath him, and the shot of arousal he felt was all but dizzying. He knew he must stop. This was a gentlewoman, the niece of Lord Melbourne. He could not kiss her this way."
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win Shana. My email is:- dpd333(at)aol.com

DeleteHard to choose. For me it is a tie between 4 and 5. Love the humor in both.

DeleteYikes - don't make me pick. They all make me want to read more!! If forced I will pick 3 just because I'm in that kind of mood lol.
ReplyDeletecatslady5(at)aol.com
I'd never make you pick, catslady :-) You can pick all of them; you're very sweet.
DeleteChapter 2 made me giggle. I like the reluctant rakes! Congrats on the release. I love this series!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brooklyn Ann.
DeleteLOVE Chapter 5...a little banter about lady and gentleman sure makes me want to know what happens next. Does she prove she's a lady or does he prove he's not a gentleman?
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha! You fell for my evil plan, Carolyn. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI like chapter 4 - going with the odds!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Riley :-)
DeleteI liked the line from Chapter #4, now I'm in suspense, I've got to find out what happens. :D
ReplyDeleteBarbed1951 at aol dot com
And my work here is done!
DeleteI really like all of them, but Chapter 4 is my favorite. Who doesn't love Q's inventions whether they work perfectly or not.....
ReplyDeleteglendamartillotti@gmail.com
Q was a fun character to write. She even got her own subplot, which I did not intend!
DeleteI like the quote from Chapter 2. The hero will be eating his words before the end of the book. lizsch110@aol.com
ReplyDeleteAnd don't you just love that? Thanks, Elizabeth!
DeleteChapter 3, I just love the sizzle!! I especially always enjoy the one is the hero's POV. But they're all pretty great quotes!
