DELETED SCENE – The Groom’s Gamble by Jade Lee

I rarely share deleted scenes. I love, love, love watching them on DVD extras, but in books, I find my deleted stuff is rarely of interest to anyone. The closest I came to sharing one before was when I took out a love scene that came too early in What the Bride Wore. I almost put it up on my website, but when I looked at it, it was a really, really short scene and would require all sorts of mature audience warnings. So I never did it.

Until today. No, no, you’re not getting that scene. But my novella The Groom’s Gamble had an epilogue that led into Radley’s story in What the Groom Wants. My editor appropriately believed that the happily ever after in the previous chapter was good enough. I agreed, so my beautiful epilogue got the boot. But I still think about those pages. I wonder if people want to see the link between novella and novel before they buy the novel. Or if they just trust the books will relate. And, of course, I worked hard on those pages! Someone ought to read them!

So here you go. I don’t have the space to put them in this blog, but you can link to it here

And in the meantime, if you haven’t checked them out, here’s the link to

They’re really great books with lots of adventure and hot sex! And if you leave a comment, one lucky winner will get a signed copy of whichever Bridal Favor book you want!

  4. Oh, I did what I rarely do and read your excerpt. The reason I don't usually read them is because they do what they are suppose to do and get me totally hooked lol. I loved it!

  5. What a fun idea...you should do a blog about bloopers sometime, too. Those words that got through the spell check because they were really words but OMG, what a mess!

  6. Congratulations Jade on your latest book. I snapped up this week's Sourcebooks Casablanca releases and can't wait to read (in print!) the books. There's something about curling with a hot romance in print. Looking forward to spending time with Radley and Wendy.

  7. I read it, and it was wonderful and sexy, yet not nearly enough for me. I loved this story, and was sad when it ended.

  10. I adore epilogues. They finish up the story with a nice bright bow and give us a hint of whose story is next :-). Thanks for posting this one! How many Bridal favors are left?

  14. YEAH! It worked! Okay, this is jade Lee. As I said my computer won't let me comment, so let me address things here! First -- Thank you all! I'm glad you like my work and the epilogue! I hate killing scenes, so I'm pleased that this one had a little extra life!

Crystal -- Sourcebooks does a great job with my covers. I'm very blessed.

Glittergirl -- I had thought this would end the Bridal Favors, but I'm writing another. Apparently there's more life in this series than I thought!

and Catslady -- I understand completely. That's why my To Be Read Pile is really more like a To Be Read multiple pillars of doom!

  17. I love epilogues! I think they give a certain type of closure to the book, and a nice transition to the next book ( if there is one).
