Welcome to the launch of The Cowboy's Christmas Baby!

Welcome to the launch party for
The Cowboy's Christmas Baby!
Christmas might really be two months away but think cold snow, the smell of sugar cookies baking in the oven, warm sweaters, crackling fireplaces, shiny ornaments on the tree, Christmas songs on the radio and holiday specials on television. Think Christmas parties and a big spread of all your favorite holiday foods...pecan tarts, that special punch with just a little bit of kick, pumpkin dip and southwest pinwheels.
Natalie and Lucas welcome all y’all to Cedar Hill Ranch in Savoy, Texas. Population less than a thousand with friendly folks, ranches, sexy cowboys, sassy ladies, and a snowstorm promising the first white Christmas in nearly twenty years.
Christmas is that time when love is in the air, as much or maybe even more than Valentine’s Day. It’s hustling about, cooking, and keeping secrets so that there can be surprises on Christmas day. It was the perfect time for Lucas to meet Natalie in person, the woman that he’d been visiting with via the Internet for almost a year.
He thought he’d surprise everyone when he arrived home two days early, but it was Lucas who got
the surprise. Natalie had already arrived so that she and Hazel, Lucas’s elderly housekeeper, could
surprise him when he came home. Imagine how he felt when he rounded the back of the house and there she stood, with a dead coyote at the toes of her boots, three hound puppies at her heels, a pink pistol in one hand, and a baby cradled in her other arm.
And poor old Lucas didn’t know a thing about a baby!

And so begins a rocky relationship that began as an internet relationship with Natalie in Silverton, Texas and Lucas in Kuwait. He didn't have a problem with the pistol, the pups or the dead coyote but the baby...now that was a whole different story altogether. But Natalie wasn't ready to concede the war to Lucas...not without a fight.

I'm raising a cup of punch to all my readers and here's an old Irish Christmas blessing (since the punch does have a little Irish kick)...May peace and plenty be the first to lift the latch on your door, and happiness be guided to your home by the candle of Christmas.

And since the holiday spirit of giving is upon us, I'm giving away a signed copy of The Cowboy's Christmas Baby to each of three lucky readers. All you have to do to get your name in the famous red boot is tell me what your most unusual Christmas present has ever been or if that brings on too big of a blush, how about your favorite Christmas present. (NOT limited to the US...it's the Christmas season so I'll send books anywhere in the world). Drawing will be held on Friday, October 4th. Please leave your email address so I can contact you!

  1. I don't really have unusual Christmas presents but my favorites have always been piano books. Books in general are among my faves but anytime someone hands me music, it just makes me happy all over!!

The most unusual Christmas gift I have received is a wall hanging with feathers, and blue and orange beads. It was hideous.

My favorite Christmas gifts are when people give me some hockey memorabilia to add to my collection. I'm a huge hockey fan so any time I can add more - cards, pucks, bobbleheads, whatever - I love love love!!

  14. Yes! Finally! I am going to buy it this week. I'll snap a picture of it "in the wild" for you.

  15. Oh, sounds like another one of your great stories!! Well, unusual may be the rug cleaner my husband bought me which was also my worst! Honestly how horrible was that!! But he redeemed himself when after 25 years I lost the stone in my wedding band while raking leaves on our hillside and he replaced it with a ring he had specially made.

Ada: What fun to get more of your hockey memorabilia for Christmas!

Shana: I'd love an "in the wild" picture!

  30. Unusual christmas present? Usually my hubby tries and fails, but last year he did well (which in itself is unusual). He bought in the name of my late cat Fluser a gold locket and wrote a heart wrenching card. I had lost my mate just in the month before. I am wearing the locket now with Fluser's microchip in it.
Intriguing story. Really love to read that one. Congrats on the release and thanks for the giveaway. :)

  32. My husband came back from the war a few days before Christmas, so that was my best gift.

He did bring me home 3 beautiful rings and as it turns out I later gave birth to 2 daughters who were born in October and one of the rings was an opal and the other 2 were topaz and garnet - my first 2 grandchildren's birthdays. Unbelievable.

  33. Cannot really think of anything unusual. One year my husband bought me a beautiful set of china that I had wanted.
