Do You Remember Your First?

by Tracey Devlyn

This spring was a season of many firsts for me. There are far too many to enumerate for this blog, so I'm going to share the highlights. March heralded unseasonably warm temperatures in Chicago. For two weeks, pale Midwesterners could be found walking around in short sleeves, flip flops, and ponytails. The warm temperatures made everything pop a month early.

Then came April. Back to sweaters, jackets, and close-toed shoes. Sigh. But all was not lost. Another more precious flower blossomed, one that took six years to form the perfect petals and build the loveliest of fragrances. I call it Ode to A Lady's Revenge. Isn't she beautiful?

This lovely April flower brought forth a shower of rainbow-laden delights.

  2. My firsts have been limited to some new reads and authors. I have to confess, I got to read you well before spring. My bookpusher and former boss was somewhat swamped and asked me to review your book. I loved it and told her so,with a bit more explanation about why.

  10. My first this spring has been living in Montana or in the northern part of the states. I have lived in the south and in California. It has been a shock to my system. It's a first to own a heavy jacket in my life. I know that it's silly. Oh well.

  11. Hi Melody--not silly at all. I've owned heavy jackets my entire life. Not to own one would seem odd to me. Thanks for sharing!

  12. What a wonderful way to start spring!

For me: writing review #100 for my blog, made kimchi fried rice using an online recipe, had my first manicure in over a year (in preparation for a trip to the beach), and trying out a new dentist -- ^_^

    Congratulations on your debut!

  17. Wow, you've had a remarkable spring, and may you have many, many more. Your question is more thought provoking than you'd think: What have I done this spring that new and different? I gave my first blurb to a debut author.
