Sharon Lathan celebrates 2 releases!

Wait! TWO?! You betcha baby!! I am hitting the jackpot this month! Both In the Arms of Mr. Darcy and A Darcy Christmas are released in October. Yippee!!

First let’s say Hoo-rah for the fourth volume in my Darcy Saga series ~

Isn’t it pretty? I may be a tad prejudiced but I think it is gorgeous! I have loved all of my covers but this one is truly perfect. The dancing scene may not be purely Regency as far as attire but I love it, especially since there are two balls of significance within the story. And this particular Mr. Darcy portrait is my favorite. Don’t you love how handsome and regal he is? Note how he is overlooking the scene with In the Arms of Mr. Darcy scrolled below his commanding face. *sigh

I am busy ripping up the internet-waves on my big virtual tour. This is actually my third release celebration! I have almost lost count. Luckily I have it written down on my Calendar of Events page and on my Blog. Numerous copies of my latest novel are up for grabs, some signed and some not. Be sure to get in on that action!

Reviews are coming in and so far so good. Whew! Here are snippets of my favorites:
If most of these events sound ordinary, it's because they are. Ms. Lathan's genius is to spin the everyday occurrences of married life into a page-turner. In a world full of strife, this book full of happiness is a treat for all.   Linda Banche

Jane Austen would approve of this depiction of her characters; Austen fans will continue to love them, as well. As a collector of Austen sequels, I feel this is one of the best yet written and highly recommend it.   Everything Victorian
The daily life in large manor houses is amazing for modern readers to contemplate, and Lathan does an excellent job of outlining what such a daily routine consisted of.  This book is recommended for readers who loved Austen's work and are interested to see the story continue.   Booksie’s Blog
Having read many different takeoffs and mash ups of Austen's novels, I continue to hold Lathan's at the top of the list.  There is something so fanciful and romantic about Sharon Lathan's depiction of Darcy and Elizabeth that I can't quite get enough!   One Literature Nut

I have Excerpts at my website if you are curious and the first pages can be read HERE. On my website I also have a Portrait Gallery to visually enhance the novel, a Regency Glossary, a Cast of Characters, and so much more! Stop by to learn about my series AND maybe win a signed book! From the back cover—

If only everyone could be as happy as they are…

Darcy and Elizabeth are as much in love as ever—even more so as their relationship matures. Their passion inspires everyone around them, and as winter turns to spring, romance blossoms around them.

Confirmed bachelor Richard Fitzwilliam sets his sights on a seemingly unattainable, beautiful widow; Georgiana Darcy learns to flirt outrageously; the very flighty Kitty Bennet develops her first crush, and Caroline Bingley meets her match.

But the path of true love never does run smooth, and Elizabeth and Darcy are kept busy navigating their friends and loved ones through the inevitable separations, misunderstandings, misgivings, and lovers’ quarrels to reach their own happily ever afters…

The good news never stops--

Sourcebooks eBook Promotion: Sharon Lathan’s bestselling book, Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One, will be available for free download from 10/5 – 10/11. Please visit http://www.sourcebooks.com/special-offers/ebook-deals.html for more information!

Now let’s talk about A Darcy Christmas! This is a holiday themed anthology with 3 novellas. I was honored with the invitation to join Amanda Grange and Carolyn Eberhart in this project. I adore this cover! The girl is beautiful, the cover totally evocative of Christmas in a bygone era. Simply wonderful.

Capitalizing on the popularity of Jane Austen sequels, three novelists put Mr. Darcy in a holiday mood. In Grange's "Christmas Present," the Darcys' holiday festivities are interrupted by the arrival of a very special guest. Carolyn Eberhart's "Mr. Darcy's Christmas Carol" mashes up Dickens with Austen, and Sharon Lathan's "A Darcy Christmas" finds Darcy and Elizabeth looking back on many years of marriage. Sure to be a hit with Austen and romance fans. Library Journal

In my novella – “A Darcy Christmas” – I decided to stay true to the characters as I had created them. I built upon the two Christmases I had already written in my saga and went on from there using either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to show the evolving family over 25 years. Through brief snapshots over time the reader enjoys holiday traditions of the time while celebrating with the changing family.

I am so proud of this story! Right now A Darcy Christmas is available for digital download on all formats at all online retailers and is sporadically available in paperback. Stores will individually decide when they will stock their holiday products, so finding it that way may not be so easy for a few weeks.

I have image complements in the Portrait Gallery and Excerpts on my website. Amazon has the Search Inside feature to skim through. The official virtual tour for A Darcy Christmas will be in November.

So much to celebrate! And I am so happy that for this I will be giving away one signed copy of each book! That’s right! Someone will win In The Arms of Mr. Darcy and someone else A Darcy Christmas. Simply share your thoughts with me between now and the end of 10/10 for a chance to win - *US/Canada only I’m afraid.

  1. You big dawg you, a two-fer! Surely a couple this devoted is reproducing (characters for linked stories) like a pair of bunnies? And given the commendation you got on your depiction of daily life at the manor, what were your research sources? I'm having a fine time right now with "Georgette Heyer's Regency World" (Sourcebooks) by Jennifer Kloester.

  3. Two releases? How wonderful, Sharon. What excitement!

Like you, I loved the Darcy portrait on the cover. So aristocratic. I love all the regency covers Sourcebooks does, but I agree there's an energy about this one that makes it special.

    Enjoy your virtual tour.

  6. A two-fer is surely is!! Not sure how "grand" it is, to quote Carolyn, since it means double the work - LOL! But, I'm not really complaining cause it is great fun.

Yes, Grace, they are reproducing. Perhaps not quite at the rate of bunnies but close! Research is wherever I can get it. The internet has most of what I need if I search hard enough. But I have some books and contacts I correspond with. I am a member of the RWA's Beau Monde chapter so they help immensely. I need to get the Kloester book. I have heard of it.

Thanks for all the congrats ladies! I appreciate the support. And I hope I am forgiven for being absent more than present lately. It has been as especially crazy time for me. I think I see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel though....

  18. Hi everyone and congrats to you dear friend! I love your beautifully bound fourth novel. I do love them all. Sourcebooks has done a wonderful job tying them all together with that wonderful theme. The way the title is placed the gorgeous pics of "Lizzy & Darcy" and if thats not enough your exquisite story is held within! Your "Saga" gets better with every novel! I have so many fav parts throughout the Darcy's amazing journey!
A Darcy Christmas will be loved by all, the story you weave is truly amazing. There are so many beautiful moments within. I have a personal fav spot in it, but will not spoil for others. I look forward to reading the stories from Amanda and Carolyn also.
