Backstage Pass Launch Party!

It's finally here! Get your all access Backstage Pass to one incredibly hot, fictional rock band. Sinners are on tour and want to take you for a wild ride. So grab a copy (or two) and get ready to rock.

This is my first published novel, evah, and I'll be honest, I'm a bit overwhelmed with the various emotions I'm experiencing over it's launch. Excitement. Disbelief. Pride. Happiness. And a heap of worry. What if readers hate it? What if I'm the only woman on the planet who thinks musicians are sexy by default? Maybe I'm the only one who returns from rock concerts dehydrated from all the sweating and, yes, drooling I've been doing for hours. I do love my rock stars.

I had no idea what to expect or what the response would be to this book. Each time a new review pops up, my heart does this little stutter thing and I almost don't want to read it. All my anxiety is for naught. Reviewers like it. Love it! Especially fans of contemporary, erotic romance (which this is). Some do have to get over their initial shock. More than one of my reviews says "not for the faint of heart". They're not talking about the action and suspense, they're talking about the sex. There's lots of it and it's explicit, creative, and varied. It was not my intention to cause heart palpitations and fainting jags, but I have this warning on my website for a reason:

You've been given fair warning. It's really hot. Don't believe me? Read an excerpt here. Don't even go there if you're under age.

I don't want to give the impression that that's all there is to the book. It's not all about the sex. It's a romance. A love story. It will tug at your heartstrings and make you root for the hero and heroine to get their happily ever after. You will laugh with them, cry with them, yell at them (especially Myrna for not scooping up that wonderful, sexy man immediately!), and feel their happiness and sorrow. It has a plot. Honest. A Night Owl Romance reviewer said, "this is truly a love story and more than the wild sex."

What most reviewers rave over are the characters. And not just the main characters, but the secondary characters, too. The heroine, Doctor Myrna Evans, is a highly educated college professor. How in the world does she end up touring with a rock band? She's a psychologist who specializes in human sexuality and is doing a summer research project on band groupies. How fun would it be to study promiscuity in band groupies? Loads of fun until you interview a few who are obsessed with your lead-guitarist lover! If that doesn't make you want to clobber a scantily clad young thang, nothing will.

The hero is the lead guitarist of the band, Sinners. Brian Sinclair. *collective sigh* He's a romantic. Yes, you read that right, a romantic rock star. He's got women throwing their panties at him and begging him to sign their, erm, cleavage, but that's not what he wants. He's had enough of that. He wants forever and the magic of true love. Enter his perfect woman, who wants no part of forever or true love. She tried that. Didn't like it. Her exhusband is an abusive tool. You knew I couldn't make this easy on Brian. He has to work to win Myrna's undying love. And let me tell you, this man has stamina!

And then there are the sexy men of the band. Brian, Sed, Jace, Eric and Trey. I dare you not to fall in love with all of them.

If you want to learn more about them, check out their website: http://www.sinnersontour.com/ Better yet, read the book. The way they interact with each other is hilarious. A book that is scorching hot and laugh-out-loud funny? Why yes, yes, it is.

If you're interested, I post links to all my reviews on my facebook page: Olivia Cunning on Facebook *beams with pride* This way you know I'm not making stuff up. They really are great reviews. *huge sigh of relief*

And my blog tour schedule is here on my blog. Olivia Cunning's Blog Tour I'd love to have you join the party all month! How often do you get to party like a rock star with rock stars? In Backstage Pass and with Sinners on Tour, it's as often as you like.

  1. Woohoo, congratulations on your first release, Olivia! Do you feel like a rock star yet??? Good luck with sales!

I think of a vampire rock star that "came out of the closet" when I think of rock stars, lol! It was the perfect nighttime gig, tons of fans mesmerized by his music and eyes, tons of frenetic fans to feed off of, women and men who adored him and would do anything for him, yep, perfect job for a vampire. :)

    Have fun with your signings!

  4. I lived with a card carrying stage hand for a while, and you've hit a setting that begs for an erotic romance. Love the set up, love the bromance among the band members, love the courage to toss in everything--sex, love and rock and roll--a reader could possibly want in one book. How soon will the sequel hit the shelves?

  5. Good morning!

No vampires in my book, Terry. Though I did briefly consider it. Wouldn't want to take anything away from LeStat though.

Anita - Yes, exciting and frightening. Exactly. You should look forward to it!

    Cheryl- Thanks!

Grace- I obviously agree! The second book will be out in April 2011! It's called Rock Hard. :-)

  7. Whew! No question--THAT'S erotica, but you know what I liked best about it? It was a sex scene yes, but what the scene was about was the characters.

Congrats. Enjoy the thrill of your first book.

  8. My copy just arrived via the mail and I had to quarantine it for fear that it would influence my other books. It looks hot!

Well I'm too young to have followed the Dead, but if their followers are called Dead Heads what are devotees of Sinners called?

All I can say is that I'm glad that the second release isn't like a year away.

Congratulations, Olivia. Revel in the well-earned success of your hard work.

  14. I went to a Mexican resturaunt last Saturday, which meant no extra dishes (YAY!). And got talked into doing a book signing. Does that count as celebrating, Amanda? :-)

  15. More Congratulations Olivia!

Back Stage Pass sets the bar high for quality erotica. Until the hot scenes I'd forget it was more than a romance. Well done m'dear. So well done.

  16. Well, halfway through the book and whew! I think the rain is steaming up my windows.

Olivia, I don't think Foucault would have a problem, but Sartre is more of a stickler. You know, I'm going to stick BP next to Foucault, I like the synchronicity, though it is Discipline and Punish not Human Sexuality. Think that's a deal breaker? Maybe another Sinner will be a better seating companion for Foucault.
