Loving Mr. Darcy is EVERYWHERE!!

All together now: AWESOME!

Yep indeedy, the day has finally arrived. That date we authors circle on the calendar in bright red felt-ink months in advance. Then we watch it c-r-e-e-e-e-e-p Oh-so gradually until … BAM! … We are hit with guest blogs, interviews, reviews, more guest blogs, launch parties, book signings, and a dozen more guest blogs until our head explodes!

Yet none of the craziness takes away from the joy of seeing your book on a shelf and hearing from fans when they get their pre-orders. My author’s copies arrived yesterday - *insert hysterical screaming and giddy dancing here* - and the emails started the day before:

“I got my copy today from Barnes & Noble in Clifton, NJ. They had to go get it from the back because they hadn't unpacked it yet! Will start reading it tonight!” “It is already on the shelves in 2 Barnes & Nobles in Cincinnati!” “My book arrived today. It looks fabulous!!” “My copy has arrived - and is gorgeous!!” “Saw it at B&N at Portland, Oregon Lloyd Center. *happy dance* I was so happy, I turned them all to face outwards. I'm a good friend.” “I picked up your book today at lunchtime at Barnes & Noble in Salisbury, MD! They had several copies.”

The biggest surprise was the change in color! For a millisecond I thought they had accidentally sent me copies of Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy. Not sure when the change from a yellowish-gold oval to the silvery-lavender was made (Deb didn’t know about it either) but it looks so pretty that I don’t care! Just look at it!! Now I need to get those geeky in-store photos that I am famous for.

What a wonderful week it has been! Party Time all over the blog-o-sphere, including the very successful Loving Mr. Darcy Launch Fete at my website. And now I get to par-tay with my CasaBabe sisters and blog visitors! Whoo Hoo! Pour a cup of spiced punch and grab some freshly baked gingerbread cookies. The orchestra is beginning with a lively quadrille and a scandalous waltz is planned for the next set. Dancing and dining!

And prizes! What would a party be without prizes? A free, signed copy of Loving Mr. Darcy: Journeys Beyond Pemberley will be given to one lucky person combining names from my pre-launch post on Aug. 29th and the official launch post today. Too cool, huh? But wait, there’s more!

What a wonderful ride it has been. I am a multi-published author! I am thrilled beyond words to be a part of the Sourcebooks publishing family. My books look awesome, are perfectly crafted in every way, will soon be in e-book format, and are sold at Target department stores. AND, I am one of the Casablanca Babes! So very much to be thankful for. Including great reviews! I shared some of the early ones in my post on Aug. 29th, and here are some snippets from recent reviews:
“Lathan does a wonderful job of imbuing the story with emotion. As we journey with Mr. and Mrs. Darcy on the road to discovering the depth of their love, Lathan makes every moment count. Whether it’s happiness, sadness or even at times a bit of anger, the emotions are vivid and pop off the page to affect the reader.” A Journey of Books

“As with Lathan's first novel, I felt like I slipped away into the pages of another time. I really fell in love with Lathan's continuation of Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam's story. The relationship, and arc of the story, were trying to show the full range of their life together. Book two left me even more eager for book three!” One Literature Nut

“The thing I love most about Ms. Lathan’s style is her ability to inject humor, even in tense situations. Where a lot of authors would take the seriousness of a situation and make it worse, she throws in little turns of phrase or a moment that gives an uplifted feeling to it all. I really did enjoy this book and am greatly looking forward to the next one. I cannot recommend these books enough.” Good Books, Bad Books
Happy dancing over here! If you are even a tenth as excited as me, you are dancing too! Share the joy, please. More information can be found at my website: Sharon Lathan’s Darcy Saga. But for now, pass the wassail, grab onto your favorite hero in tight breeches, and get in line for the dancing. Tell me what your favorite Regency or historical novels are. Let me know if you have seen my stunning novel. Or just say hello! Congrats are always welcomed!

  6. Thanks everyone! I am still walking on air. Is it weird that I can't stop staring at my book as it sits on the table next to me? Sure hope not!!! Sourcebooks wizards strike again. This week has been marvelous, for all of us. We CasaBabes are on a roll!

  7. WOOO HOOO!!! SUPER CONGRATS, Sharon!!!

And I LOVE the purple on the cover! It really catches the eye! They did a few changes on my TToV cover too. Added a quote from Brenda Novak and changed the slug line! HOORAY! I made no bones about the fact that I did not like the previous one. I LOVE the new one. ;-)

My favorite Regencies, besides YOUR of course, are by my fellow Banditas Anna Campbell, Christy Kelley, and Christine Wells. In fact I'd LOVE to have the hero of Christine Wells' "The Dangerous Duke" as my dancing partner! C'mere Max you bad boy!

  8. Hi Cindy, and thanks! I love your covers, but do agree that the one for Venice is awesome and the best. Thanks for the additional author names. I am always looking for new reading material - although I don't know why since I have so little time to actually READ!

  11. Okay, now I'M late to the party!!! I had to write two blogs for Danielle at oh-dark-thirty this morning before work and I still need to do two more tonight for her for the next weeks postings since I figured I was working on Friday. Everybody kept telling me I was working Saturday when I was at work today. argh. Which means I'm off Friday instead! LOL Anyway, so I'm only just now getting to the party after work and am ready for the waltzing, the guys in tight breeches---who I'm hoping are NOT too warn out dancing first with all you ladies, the wassail, and some watching some sword play...oh, no sword play? Can't wait to get your book, Sharon! I love regencies and I love yours!!!

  16. Sorry I'm late to the party, Sharon. Congratulations on the release. My boarders had them in the back room, they hadn't made it out to the floor yet.

As for the color change, I happened to be at Sourcebooks the day they were working on your cover (that was in June) and Danielle and I were asked which color we preferred for the foil. We were given three different shades and that's the one we picked. I'm glad you like it.

    I wish you many sales!
