If a Picture = 1000 Words, Does 2 Picture = 2000 Words?

Yesterday, as most of the romance writing and reading community knows, was the day the Rita and Golden Heart finalists were announced and I had a cyber party on my blog where people could "squee" about their finals, their friends finals, or just release the tension of waiting to hear. I did this because I had such a GREAT time doing it last year. (And I'll be doing it again next year.)

Luckily, I didn't have a pony in this race, (next year = whoooole other story) but I was rooting right along with everyone and hoping to see names I knew.

But I was also celebrating. Because what most people didn't realize was, it was the day my next 2 covers, for Wild Blue Under and Catch of a Lifetime were making their public debut.

And now I'd like to share them with you:

  1. Beautiful covers, Judi! I didn't get that call yesterday, but one from the hospital. My mother has breast cancer that has spread to several organs, but the dr said it was good news. They can do a little more for her than if it was stomach cancer. So it was the best news I could hear yesterday, under the circumstances! Congrats to all the Rita and GH finalists also! I had fun entering this year in anticipation anyway! :) And that made it all worth it. Chasing the dream is half the fun! :)

  2. Wow, Terry - what a difference a few days and a diagnosis make! I'm happy that it was a better call than the previous one. Keep us informed!

  3. Ah, such great covers. You must be very happy. Congratulations.

  4. They're both great covers but I love the one for Catch of a Lifetime. It's the lips.

Don't know why but, for me, lip shape can make or break someone in the sexual attraction department. Those lips are perfect.

  5. Ooo pets the purple one... very pretty. I like the tiny bolts of lightning.

  6. I guess it's more wispy cloudy than lightning but still I like it!

  7. Ooh. Nice! And MM is right, there's something about the purple guy's lips. I agree, MM, about the mouth thing...it can definitely make or break a guy in the looks dept. For instance, I have an ongoing love affair with Christian Bale's mouth. Uh, not what comes out of it, necessarily, but the mouth itself is pretty divine. YAY for great covers! And great job hosting the GH/RITA party. My CP, Katey, is a finalist in the GH for paranormal this year, and I can't wait to be there cheering for her!

And Terry, I'm glad yesterday brought you somewhat better news. Thinking of you!

  9. Great covers, Judi!

Two of my critique partners are up for Golden Hearts, (Yay Kate Parker and Robin Linear!) so I was doing the Snoopy Happy Dance for them even though Romeo, Romeo wasn't on the Rita list. The party was great fun. Thanks for doing it.

    Robin :)

  11. Judi, it was good to see some familar names make it on both lists. :-) I knew a whole lot more of them this year than last.

Your book covers are beautiful! The warm turquoise green are nice, but my favorite is COAL. LOVE the shade of lavender...

  12. Yum I would say that those pictures are worth more than 2000 words :)
