Do Your Duty!

I was going to be boring and write a blog about "internetiquette," when I obviously should be shouting to the world:

VOTE!

I don't care who you're voting for, if you're a democrat or a republican, I don't care if you don't care--we have a right to do so, and we should all excercise it... No matter the outcome, this will be a historic election, and we should all be proud to have our say. VOTE!!!

  1. We had our Canadian election a while ago. I voted in that one, so I guess that counts.

  3. Hooray! I voted this morning--and even with all the anticipation of long lines, it literally took me 10 minutes :)

  4. LOL, Danielle, I guess the voting pin-up girl caught BOTH our eyes! I put up my post before I saw yours...oh well, she's just right for today:-)

I don't think I've ever been as excited to vote as I was this morning. I waited in the rain for 45 minutes! Voting rocks...I highly recommend it.

  5. Amen sister! I get to take my 20 year old daughter for her first presidential election. She is very excited. Get back to that 'internetiquette' post some day, Danielle - that does sound interesting!

By the way, where do you get those cool pictures? I love them!

  6. Kendra- She's perfect for today! I've also seen her showing up around the blogosphere. And I agree--today is a very exciting day :)

Sharon- My younger brother just turned 20 and this is also his first election to vote in! He called me the other day when he voted early and was like, "That was SO COOL!"

Also, I spend a lot of time on Google Images. Type in Pin Ups, Gil Elvgren or Vargas (the two main pin up artists) and you'll be in heaven!

MM and Vicki and everyone earlier--Thanks for stopping by :)

  7. I have always taken my kids with me to vote, since they were babies. In the last election, my two oldest, then ages 13 and 11, weren't allowed the to come with me to the booth. We were told that they were too old. The 9 year-old was the only one allowed to watch.

This morning when I was getting ready to vote, all three of my kids were bummed that they'd out-grown it.

We decided to have our own little election. We sat down over breakfast and read the General Election Voting Information and my youngest even made a voting booth out of a cardboard box with a toilet-paper roll lever. It was great fun for all of us. I have to say that after voting in our booth, the real plastic one was kind of a let-down. (grin)

    Robin :)

  8. I did! The line stretched out the door. The feeling of importance was palpable, and I was proud to be one of the many taking part.
