Line of Scrimmage, Now in Stores!

By: Marie Force

Eleven months ago today, I got The Call that Sourcebooks wanted "Line of Scrimmage." Last Wednesday, I returned from vacation to find my box of author copies on the front porch. Over the weekend, my phone rang off the hook with friends and family telling me they had received their pre-ordered copies from Amazon.com. On Monday, I saw it for the first time in stores! Yesterday, friends in Boston, Virigina, and California reported sightings in their local bookstores. It's been a very exciting week, to say the least! The best part is that because of the time of year, my husband and kids were with me the first time I saw the book and the first time I saw it on a bookstore shelf. It was nice to be able to share the excitement with them.

Here's a photo of my first visit to the book in a store:

Next time I'll be sure to take a moment to put on a little eyeliner and some lipstick! Here's a photo of the fabulous neighborhood my husband's last name put me in:

I'm thrilled to be next to Lori Foster, one of my favorite authors!

As we were waiting to pull into the bookstore partking lot, Rod Stewart's "You're In My Heart" came on the radio—Ryan and Susannah's wedding song in "Line of Scrimmage." Karma? I'd like to think so!

Come on back on Monday (Labor Day) for the "Line of Scrimmage" launch party where I'll be giving away two copies of the book as well as some Barnes & Noble gift cards to those who comment. Don't miss the fun!

  1. This is great Marie--and you are smiling all over your face. And how wonderful that your husband and children were with you!

The local B&N said their books would come in yesterday. I'll pick up my copy this morning. I'm looking forward to it.

  3. Thanks Mary Margaret! I appreciate you haunting your local bookstore, MM. My cousin saw it in New Jersey and my coworkers reported sightings in Virginia, so it's got to be getting close to North Carolina!

  6. Hi Marie~

I'm sure you're still floating on air and I don't think your feet will hit the ground any time soon.

Love the pics and I'm so happy that you were able to share your shining moment with your family. I'm sure they're so proud.

Stephen is on a mission today to buy LOS and turn all the Casa-sisters books out. We are both thrilled for you. May you have many more sales and many more successful launches.

    Robin :)

  7. YAY Marie!!!

What a THRILL! I'm sure this will be the first of many and great company there betwixt Galen Foley and Lori Foster. We'll never tell your husband you picked him coz of name placement. SHHHHH! Not us! ;-)

  8. Totally bummed that my local book store, a small place in my small town, does not yet have LOS!! Waaaa..... So, I ordered it on Amazon! Could not wait until I had the opportunity to drive to the bigger city. Your tale, my dear Marie, will be my first true romance novel read in ages. It is like being a virgin all over again! Don't worry, I shall be gentle. :)

  9. Hi Cheryl,
You are so right--it felt great! I keep waiting to wake up from this dream I'm having that my book is out there!!

    Robin,
You know I already love Stephen, so now you're just taunting me with his perfection. :--))

    Aunty!
You can never tell Dan that I married him for his fabulous last name! In fact, my brother wants to know if he can use it for his band. He thinks George Force is a better name than George Sullivan! HA!

    Sharon,
A small-town virgin--that sounds like a romance novel in the making. There's only one way to solve this problem with your local bookstore--you must move. Now! Before the October books come out and you are once again left out of the fun. OR, you could become such a nag hag (I can give you some pointers on that) that your bookstore will cave in and carry romance! Thanks for ordering it from Amazon!

Hugs to all my Casa sisters!
    Marie

  10. Can't move, but I already intend to become a nag hag! I talked to the gal on the phone, told her all about my Casa friends and my own book coming out in March. She said to check back in a few days, when the book is officially supposed to be there, and if not, give her the ISBN and she can order it. I figured I would get ALL the ISBNs of the upcoming books, go back and speak to the manager in person (this was just a sales-chickie), and do the whole promoting/salesbabe thing! I WILL see LOS on the shelves, as well as all our others! As God is my witness....Oh wait, plagarism. :)

  12. Marie, Wonderful pictures and such a happy smile.

Congratulations. And I will keep checking my local Chapters store, if LOS doesn't show up soon, I'll join Sharon with the nagging program.

  13. Thanks Michele! As a nag hag myself, I appreciate having nag hag friends! You guys are the bomb!
