The Lord Meets His Lady OR "What happens when a recovering bad boy meets a recovering bad girl?" by Gina Conkle

Sparks are sure to fly when a recovering scoundrel of a second son meets a woman of ill-repute.  Lord Marcus Bowles rides north to cool his heels. Banished to his mother's childhood cottage, he must stay scandal-free until his older brother finds a wealthy bride. One winter ought to be enough. But every cottage needs a housekeeper. It shouldn't be a problem that his new domestic is pretty, sports high hems, and low necklines. Or that said housekeeper travels under a false name. Miss Genevieve Abbott Turner is good at things like... Fixing mechanisms better than a man Putting to rights a run down cottage Quick with saucy quips And putting a man in his place His unusual housekeeper has a soft spot for horses in need, is on the hunt for her grandmother, and has a talent for illicit kisses. She keeps Lord Marcus on his toes —good thing because he needs to be ready when a man from Genevieve's past hunts her down.  Is she a thief? A ...

Battle of the Books: First Funny Moment by Gina Conkle

The Midnight Meetings series is growing with a novella and a full novel coming this year. The last time I blogged here, I featured the "first kiss" in both books (you can read "It's in His Kiss" here ). On my blog last week, I featured the "first meet" in both books (the curious can click here to read that one). In the spirit of firsts, I'm presenting the first "funny moment" between the hero and heroine in The Lord Meets His Lady and Meet a Rogue at Midnight . The game is the same as the last time. Read the entries and weigh in with your vote in the comment section with which one you liked and why, because humor is just as individual as a kiss. The prize? A $5 Amazon e-gift card. The Lord Meets His Lady by Gina Conkle (Midnight Meetings series, book 3) The Set-Up: Genevieve Turner is a woman of ill-repute turning over a new leaf as respectable housekeeper in the north. She suspects Lord Marcus bamboozled her i...

It's in His Kiss... by Gina Conkle

It's been fun this year to see two very different heroes come into their own: Lord Marcus Bowles, a second son and Jonas "Bacon" Braithwaite, man of business for the Earl of Greenwich. Both men appear as key secondary characters in the Midnight Meetings series. Now they get their own books, but as men, they couldn't be more different. So, here's a reader poll for you. Which hero archetype appeals to you the most? A) A handsome wastrel, drowning in his unhappy but privileged life? OR B) A stoic blue-eyed commoner, once the village rebel, facing his past? Then again, maybe the cover helps you decide. Try this: Option A On Amazon OR Option B On Amazon There's another way to pick a man. Aretha Franklin sang her wisdom, telling us  It's in His Kiss. Let's put Aretha's wisdom to the test, shall we? Kiss A (the hero let's the heroine take over): She flattened a hand on his ches...

What Happened When? By Gina Conkle

Do you remember what you did on this day, March 10th, last year? Or 5 years ago? Maybe 10 years ago? I love looking back in time. Days have a way of slipping one into the other. It's good to hit the pause button and think about the past. Several times a week I send "This day in #history (insert year)..." tweets. They keep things interesting, adding new facets to my perspective.  So here's a countdown on 6 March 10th takes in history (going from recent history to the old, moldy stuff I like). Be warned: I get snarky. #6 March 10, 1998 Eric Clapton releases   Pilgrim , his  first album of regular studio material since 1989. My Father's Eyes (I LOVE this song!) is on the album.  You're welcome. #5 March 10, 1971 the 26th Amendment lowered the voting age from 21 to 18. The debate began in WWII but the discussion heated up around the Vietnam War. Congress passed the amendment in March and President Nixon signed...
