The azaleas are in full bloom. Yesterday, I was working in the garden, weeding and planting impatiens and vincas. The temperature right now is 64. I have to remind myself that this is why I live here. (Over and over and over, every July and August, I have to remind myself of the spring to come!) We did have more cold weather than is typical here--the annuals froze. But really, the worst aspect of winter for us is explaining to grandkids that no, it will not be snowing for Christmas. The flowers haven't shown their pretty little heads as yet but we have the spring rain so it can't be far behind. I've always loved Spring the most. Just this week I heard the birds singing and didn't realize how much I missed the sound. I also saw my first green sprouting on my hillside - probably weeds but who cares, it's green lol.
