I ...Yep, secondary characters are great for that!

I try to give all my characters a funny bone, even if it is only the size of a phalanges. Everyone can be funny now and again. Well, I have known a handful of people in my life who had zero sense of humor, but then they also had zero personality so I probably wouldn't write a person like that. Unless it was so others could make fun of him/her!

People always ask if my characters are based on people I know and the answer is no. At least not completely. But real life people and real life happenings filter in all the time. "Write what you know" is a common phrase among writers. Good advice to heed. :)Sharon Lathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09539439531975181469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2802601138878132017.post-88922812764055194812010-04-21T21:25:33.610-04:002010-04-21T21:25:33.610-04:00Robin -- Don't you love people who can give yo...Robin -- Don't you love people who can give you great stuff like that?

Amelia -- Those are the kind of characters I totally love and you never know what they'll say.

Danielle -- Written down before we forget them.

AC -- I always say I change the names to protect the guilty.Linda Wisdomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04398941824875217938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2802601138878132017.post-44050105851778002010-04-21T19:28:11.112-04:002010-04-21T19:28:11.112-04:00GREAT post, Linda!

For instance, the grilled cheese sandwich from Breakfast in Bed. Rich doesn't know that Kraft cheese has individually wrapped slices, he put the cheese, plastic and all right onto the bread and in the frying pan. One of my aunts actually did that. She ate her whole sandwich before my cousin took a bite of hers and discovered the plastic. {shakes head} My mother is angry with my aunt because she refuses to buy a book she can get for free at a library--including mine. I told my mom not to worry about it. As long as my aunt keeps giving me great ideas, I don't have a problem :)Robin Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16262933225938609682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2802601138878132017.post-45258661834678696872010-04-21T12:26:55.500-04:002010-04-21T12:26:55.500-04:00Terry -- Very true!
