What I Am Grateful For

Thanksgiving is only one week away, and this time of year always makes me remember all the reasons why I am grateful. I have a few new reasons this year.

I am lucky enough to have fallen in love in real life with a lovely man named Eric who makes me laugh. He brings me a lot of joy, and I am very grateful for that.

I am grateful for my new day job which keeps me crazy busy but which also challenges me and has introduced me to wonderful, interesting people both in the office and out in the world. I enjoy the variety of amazing people who are in my work life.

I am grateful as always for my family and friends, without whom life would be tedious dull. So thank you Mama and Daddy, Barry, Vena and Ron, Amy and Troy, Johanna and Renee and Cassie, Marianne and Chris, Blessings on you all this holiday season.

I am very grateful for the wonderful community I have found in my new hometown, especially the lovely people that I have met through my favorite bookstore, Novels and Novelities in downtown Hendersonville. I am grateful for Val, Bejoy, and Carmella, for Cathy and Gina, for Sarah H and Sarah L, for Andrea and Karen, for Mary and Brandi, for Beth Ann and Launa. And for everyone else I have met since I moved to the mountains three years ago. What a blessing and a haven my new home is.

And I am grateful for the wonderful people at Sourcebooks, both the writers and the fabulous team that puts our books together. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

And Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers. You are the reason we work so hard. I am so glad that you are in my life, even if we haven't met in person yet.

Ever since Christy English picked up a fake sword in stage combat class at the age of fourteen, she has lived vicariously through the sword-wielding women of her imagination. Sometimes an actor, always a storyteller, Christy works happily with Sourcebooks Casablanca to bring the knife-throwing women of her novels to life. A banker by day and a writer by night, she loves to eat chocolate, drink too many soft drinks, and walk the mountain trails of her home in western North Carolina.
