The Great Estate

Sometimes, I like to dream I'm the custodian of a grand house like Downton Abbey or Thornbrook Park. Hiring servants would be my duty, a contribution to the local economy. Butler, Housekeeper, Gardener, Cook, Driver, Maids...

Not that I need any of these things, like Downton's Cousin Matthew. Oh no, let me fend on my own! Ah, but very well... if you insist. Maybe just a valet or Lady's maid. Must keep up appearances and do my part.

Right now, I'm home from vacation and my house is a mess. If I had to choose just one, I would love a maid to handle my vacation laundry and put everything back in its place. How about you? Cook? Butler? Driver? Maid? Someone to tend your garden? Someone who looks like this...

Oh dear, is he taking another break? You simply must keep after the help around here. :)

To celebrate the launch of the Great Estate, I'll be giving away prizes at my Facebook page today. If you comment here, I'll consider you entered there, but I would appreciate you stopping by there, too. I have Downton Abbey Seasons 1-3 on DVD, a Behind the Scenes at Downton Abbey book, gift cards, signed books, and more. Please pop in! Or pick up The Great Estate today!

  1. A housekeeper!
I spend about 7 hours each weekend cleaning and am never, ever finished. Someone like Mrs. Hughes would keep my home perfectly clean. No dust, dirty laundry or corgi hair!
Congrats on the new book. I loved Sophia--:)

  2. I would choose a cook. I don't like cooking! I think Mrs. Patmore would do very well indeed. Congrats on the release!

    1. Wouldn't she be fun to have around? :) I love to cook, but I could step aside for Mrs. Patmore.

  4. Congrats, Sheri!
I SO need a gardener. One that looks like Josh Hartnett would be nice.
I already have a housekeeper who shows up once a month to help me keep ahead of the potential nasty stuff. Laundry I don't mind. Cooking? LOL Well, I'm not good at it, but I'm creative. Like a mad scientist, I sometimes discover new things by accident.
