LAUNCH PARTY + GIVEAWAY: TO WED A WICKED HIGHLANDER by Victoria Roberts

I'm so excited to be here with my Casa friends today!

Today is Release Day for Laird Alexander MacDonell of Glengarry and Lady Sybella MacKenzie of Kintail. Yep, this latest Bad Boy hits the shelves today. Isn't Alex pretty? *dreamy sigh* One would think having the third release under my belt that I'd be a pro by now. Nope, I find my palms still sweat every freaking time and I'm giddy with excitement just like a kid on Christmas morning.

In my experience, writing a novel takes so much time and energy. Typing "The End" is actually only the beginning. Oh, don't get me wrong. It's a glorious thing to "finish" the story. But between writing the dreaded synopsis (a chore I loathe,) editing, copy/edits and galleys, I only breathe a sigh of relief when all that hard work is wrapped up in a verra nice package. And I think ye'll agree with me that Alex is verra nicely packaged. ;-)

Without further ado, here's a fun excerpt from To Wed a Wicked Highlander:

Alex didn’t try to speak with Sybella until he was sure he was clear of Aunt Iseabail’s ire.

“Ye said ye like to hunt.”

She nodded and swallowed what was left of her oatmeal. “Aye, verra much. If ye havenae figured it out yet, my laird, I love to be out in the fresh air.”

“’Tisnae that difficult to discern. After the meal we will test your skill with a bow.”

She lifted her brow and gave him a mischievous grin. “Why, Alexander? Ye donna trust me to hunt beside ye?”

“Before I give ye a bow and a verra sharp arrow, I want to be sure ye know how to use them. I am nae willing to take a chance alone with ye in the woods lest ye hit something of most importance.” He glanced down at his manhood and then gave her a wry grin. For some reason, he enjoyed jesting with her.

Sybella paused, clearly weighing her response. “Donna worry, my laird. ’Tisnae that big of a target.”

She always wanted to be one of the boys...
Sybella would do anything to prove she's just as valuable to the MacKenzie clan as her brother is. She'd go on any hunt, take any dare. But her father has a different sort of mission in mind: marriage. It's simple, he explains. All she has to do is marry Alexander MacDonell and report back on his family's secrets. It will be easy, he says, as long as she doesn't do anything foolish...like fall in love.
Until she got a man
As laird of the MacDonells, Alex has a duty to produce an heir. It's a duty he won't mind with the lovely Ella as his wife―even if she is one of the dreaded MacKenzies. He's wooed and won many ladies, but Ella is a challenge like no other. He can tell she's holding something back. But not for long. Because inch by inch, he plans to expose everything she's been hiding and claim the ultimate prize: her heart.

Praise for To Wed a Wicked Highlander:

Reviewer Top Pick
“Victoria Roberts knocked it outta the ballpark with this one!!! It is Highland romance at its best, loaded with likable characters, and an engaging plot with lots of angst and heartache that put a few tears in this reader’s eye. It was so good that I couldn’t put it down.”

―Night Owl Reviews

Reviewer Top Pick
“Roberts has created the baddest boy of the Highlands for her third in her series. This action-packed romance has everything Roberts’ fans adore: a strong heroine who meets her match in a to-die-for hero, deception, betrayal, love and redemption. To Wed a Wicked Highlander has all the elements that make readers sigh with pleasure.”

  9. Congratulations on letting the bad boy out into the world, Victoria! I'm not a sports watcher but I did watch hours and hours of bronc riding for research. I've never been a sports participant...sweat is involved and I don't do sweat. But like Shana, I don't have a problem reading about it at all, with a glass of sweet tea and air conditioning...oh, I think I just found my ultimate sport...READING! I'm off to call the Olympic folks! I bet I could bring home the gold.

Evanlea, my second Highlander (Declan MacGregor) was an archery man.

Hi Ann. I wonder if we could consider kilt watching to be a sport. Something to ponder.

  35. Congratulations on your release, Victoria! Can't wait to read it!

I see you've only watched hockey once....you don't know what you're missing! :) I enjoy watching all sports (watching, not participating lol) but hockey is my favorite. It's fast, it's rough and it's skill mixed into one.

  36. I'm not all that into sports, but if I had to choose one I'd go with archery. I prefer a solitary sport where a person's skill is tested against others, rather than a team sport.
