Dreamin of Summer!

WOOT!  I'm so excited about the release of my first ever Sourcebooks contemporary romance, THE SUMMER HE CAME HOME. This is a special book for me for a number of reasons, but the main one being my hero Cain Black is a rocker.  Music, has and always will be super important to me. Back in the day (yes I'm a child of the 80's) I sang in an all girl rock Band and lucky you, I'm gonna share the memory!

I had a lot of hair and a lot of passion for music!  My hubby is a guitarist and our kids are carrying on the tradition! I really wanted to write a book featuring a hero who was a musician, and a lot of people told me that it would be a hard sell!  Luckily, Sourcebooks and took the chance and Cain Black, the yummy hero from Bad Boys of Crystal Lake #1, is here for you all to drool over!  Publishers Weekly named this book one of their top 10 reads of Spring 2013 and gave it a starred review!  Booklist says it's perfect for fans of, Susan Elizabeth Phillips (fans self cuz she's my hero)

Sometimes the best place to find love is right back where you started…

Falling asleep in a different bed every night has made it easy for Cain Black to forget his past. It’s been ten years since he packed his guitar and left Crystal Lake to chase his dreams. Now tragedy has forced him home again. And though Cain relishes the freedom of the road, one stolen moment with Maggie O’Rourke makes him wonder if he’s missing out on something bigger than fame.

For Maggie—single mother and newly settled in Crystal Lake—love is a luxury she just can’t afford. Sure, she appreciates the tall, dark and handsome looks of prodigal son Cain Black. But how long can she expect the notorious hellion to stay?

The last thing either of them wants is something complicated. But sometimes love has its own plans...

  3. This picture makes me giggle. I can just imagine the amounts of aqua net you had to use to maintain this look. It's so awesome though. =)

Wow favorite rocker...hmm that's tough. I think Jared Leto is freaking sexy but I do love Dave Grohl's personality and sense of humor. I don't know if I can pick a favorite...

  8. You're second from the left, right?

I, too, have to vote for Adam Levine. Unless we're mot limited to people at their present ages? Like Elvis or Tom Jones in their early 20s? Or Justin Timberlake when he was young and adorable? ;)

  9. Congrats on the new release!
My rocker crush? Adam Levine is awesome, but Maroon 5's drummer, Matt Flynn, intrigues me for some reason. Maybe it's the floppy hair...

  10. Afraid my music preference at this stage of my life leans more toward the country rather than rock -- way back then tho, Beach Boys, Bobby Darin.

Can't decide if you are the 2nd from left or the far right. But continue to enjoy and perform!

  11. I'd say about half of you guys have guessed right! I'll let you all know later!

I've always had a soft spot for Jon Bon Jovi and Nikki Sixx, and sure, Adam Levine is yummy, but I'm with whoever mentioned Dave Grohl. That guy is sweet!

  12. I always loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. For an old guy, Mick's held up pretty good. Have you seen him in concert? Or Paul McCartney?

As for the photo, I'm guessing you are second from left. Congrats on the release.

  13. I always kind of liked Martin Gore from Depeche Mode.

  14. Well, I've gotta say Rod Stewart and Jon Bon Jovi! I absolutely adored The Summer He Came Home!! It is the best contemporary I've read in years!! I'd love to win the second book, don't think I can wait on Oct.!! BTW, you are going on the auto buy list. Congrats on the release.

  15. Congratulations on the new release, Juliana! Nice to hear musician heroes are getting more chances to win over readers.

After watching U2's concert at Red Rocks, I've kind of developed a thing for The Edge. Bono is charismatic (despite the epically bad hair), and Larry the prettiest of the four, but something about The Edge's intense, serious face and total focus on his instruments won me over. Watching him play guitar and keyboard on "New Year's381 Day" was a pretty hot bit of musical multitasking.
