Please welcome fellow Casablanca Author, Victoria Roberts, who is celebrating her debut release, Temptation in a Kilt!
It’s
release week for Temptation in a Kilt, the
first book in the Bad Boys of the
Highlands series! And there’s no
place I’d rather be than here—spending it with the talented authors of the
Casablanca Authors’ blog. Before I begin the celebration, I would like to thank
the fabulous authors. I’ve read many of your books and I’m a big fan!
Being
a debut author, I have to admit that I’m easily star-struck. When Amanda
Forester and Melissa Mayhue provided cover quotes for Temptation in a Kilt, I think the neighbor’s heard me scream. No
kidding. I sent both authors handwritten notes and my hand shook the entire
time. Not to mention I still jump whenever my editor or agent call. Yeah, I
know. I’m crazy like that.
This
book was so much fun to write, and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with you
now. I thoroughly enjoyed the heartfelt relationship between Ciaran and
Rosalia. And being that this is my first baby, it’s something I will always
cherish.
I’m
fortunate enough to have a close-knit family who supports my writing. My poor husband
has been dragged to every Scottish festival under the sun. My daughter was the
only Gaelic-speaking lass in the fifth grade and my son—words cannot express
his endless encouragement, but a picture might.
Contrary
to what people may think, this was not my doing. My son offered me a deal. My
little lad in training would attend my book signings, but I had to buy him the
entire kilt ensemble from Scotland—ghillie brogues and all. How could I not?
Happy
Reading!
Victoria
Thank you, Victoria, for visiting with us today! That photo of your son is adorable! TEMPTATION IN A KILT BY VICTORIA ROBERTS - IN STORES SEPTEMBER 2012!
She’s on her way to safety...
It’s
a sign of Lady Rosalia Armstrong’s desperation that she’s seeking refuge in a
place as rugged and challenging as the Scottish Highlands. She doesn’t care
about hardship and discomfort, if only she can become master of her own life.
Laird Ciaran MacGregor, however, is
completely
beyond her control…
He redefines dangerous…
Ciaran
MacGregor knows it’s perilous to get embroiled with a fiery Lowland lass,
especially one as headstrong as Rosalia. Having made a rash promise to escort
her all the way to Glengarry, now he’s stuck with her, even though she
challenges his legendary prowess at every opportunity. When temptation reaches
its peak, he’ll be ready to show her who he really is…on and off the
battlefield.
Praise for Temptation

About the Author:
Victoria Roberts writes sexy, Scottish historical
romances about kilted heroes and warriors from the past. An avid lover of all things Scotland—simply,
she writes what she loves to read. Prior to ever picking up a single romance
novel, she penned her first young-adult novella (never published) at sixteen
years old. Who knew her leather studded motorcycle hero would trade in his ride
and emerge as a kilt donning Highlander wielding a broadsword? Victoria lives in western Pennsylvania with
her husband of nineteen years and their two beautiful children—not to mention one
spoiled dog. When she is not plotting her next Scottish romp, she enjoys
reading, nature and antiques. For more information, please visit www.victoriarobertsauthor.com.
Thanks for helping me celebrate my debut! It's wonderful to be here today.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, your son is adorable! As for my favorite man in a kilt, well, he may be Irish, but I can't resist Liam Neeson as Rob Roy. Best of luck with "Temptation"!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Cynthia! I LOVE Liam!
ReplyDeleteI love all things Scottish, many of my kin having come from the Highlands and settled in Canada! :) And man is he yummy! I read all Highland books, so I'll have to get this temptation that is too much to resist!
ReplyDeleteHi Terry! It is hard to resist a man in a kilt. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteVictoria,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your debut! I love the title and cover. I don't know if I have a favorite man in a kilt. Perhaps I should ogle some photos- uh, I mean do some research this morning. :)
Hi Samantha! Thank you verra much. ;-) I'm sure if you think about a man in a kilt, a thought will come to you. Gerard Butler perhaps?
ReplyDeleteIt's so exciting to have a debut. Enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, Big Congrat's on your first book! May it be the beginning of many best sellers! I loved Liam as Rob Roy and Mel in Braveheart, but I think your son has stolen my heart!
ReplyDeleteYour son is absolutely adorable in his kilt!! I think Gerald Butler looks great in a kilt!
ReplyDeleteluv2scrap22 at yahoo dot com
Thanks, Christine! We're very proud of him.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn! *cyber wave* We have to keep telling him not to ask the lasses if they want to touch his sporran. ;-) He's 7 years old.
ReplyDeleteMiriam, my CHRW sister! It's great to see you here. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI have title envy! The highest number of facebook hits I ever garnered was when I posted a pic of Sir Sean Connery in formal Highland attire. Dude was eighty years old in that photo, rockin' the kilt, and still campaigning for the cause of Scottish independence.
ReplyDeleteWill look for that same spirit in your Bad Boys...
What can you tell us about the next book, hmm?
How very lucky you are to have such a supportive family. I think that it's so cute that your son wanted the complete kilt ensemble to wear.
ReplyDeleteI love to see a man in a kilt. Paul Marron always looks delicious on the covers when he's wearing a kilt. Liam Neeson also looks great too.
Congratulations on your debut. I would love to read "Temptation in a Kilt".

I have a lot of Scottish blood running throgh my veins from my mother's father. Papa Campbell was born in Glasgow, and he instilled a love of everything Scottish in all his grandkids.. So the title of this book drew me right in.. I love a man in a Kilt..
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your debut book and I wish you much success...

Thank you, Kathleen. We all love our Scots!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. My husband and I couldn't believe my son volunteered to do this.
ReplyDeleteIt all started with my daughter saying, "Boy, it's too bad Jimmy Thomas couldn't be there for your book signings. He'd help you sell a lot of books."
My son piped up right away and volunteered to do it. It was funny when he even said, "I know I don't have six packs, but some day I will."
Out of the mouths of babes...
Love the photo of your son. So cute. My favorite guy in a kilt is Gerard Butler.
ReplyDeleteCrystal816[at]hotmail[dot]com
Grace, you're trying to get me to dish on the next book? lol
ReplyDeleteFor those of you who have read the first one, I can tell you that the second one is about Declan MacGregor and Lady Liadain Campbell.
Boy, talk about a Bad Boy...
Congratulations on your debut! How adorable that your son wanted the whole outfit. I have always loved highlanders. I keep thinking maybe I was Scottish in another life lol. No favorites here - they are all gorgeous!
ReplyDeletecatslady5@aol.com
Crystal, another Gerard fan. He does look verra tempting in a kilt. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCatslady, you rock. So you'll just take them all, huh?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your debut Victoria. Many great things ahead for you. Do Fictional men in kilts count? If so, then Jamie Fraser and um...Ciaran MacGregor (heehee) in that one scene at the table where Lady Rosalia couldn't look away. ;D
ReplyDeleteHi Nadine! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteYes, I loved the table scene too. How truly embarrassing for Rosalia to be called on her gawking. ;-)
My favorite man in a kilt... Gerard Butler ;-)

Congratulations on your debut novel! Here is a cyber toast to your future success.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite man in a kilt is Gerard Butler or any of the hunky men in the Jameson Whiskey commercials!
C. H. Thanks so much!I guess my son is a smart lad. He already knows how to please the lasses at 7years old.
ReplyDeleteChelsea, another Gerard fan. I have yet to find a woman who is not a fan.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm not sure I know Jameson, but the William Lawson commercials make me darn near swoon!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the release of your debut, I can't wait to read it. I can't pick just one favorite man in a kilt! I have to say both Gerard Butler and Sean Connery look great in a one. Really pretty much most men, including you're adorable son, look great in kilts.
ReplyDeleteBarbed1951 at aol dot com
Thanks so much, Barbara. I am pretty partial to my son. He keeps telling us he's going to grow into his six packs. lol
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, looks like a lovely book. I liked Mel Gibson but have to admit that I keep a soft spot for Sean Connery (although I liked him as a dragon the best, lol).
ReplyDeleteElf2060, that is too funny. He was very adorable as the dragon.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your debut release, Victoria! It must be so exciting to go through your first release week!
ReplyDeleteAs for favourite man in a kilt, I don't really have a favourite as I generally like all highlander heroes :)
chibipooh(at)gmail(dot)com
Hi Winnie. Thank you very much. It's very exciting and a little unnerving, but it's all good.
ReplyDeleteI see you're like me. We just love ALL the Highlanders. ;-)
Congrats on the book! I'd say Sean Connery.
ReplyDeletebn100candg(at)hotmail(dot)com
Congrats on the debut!! Sean Connery hands down is my favorite in a kilt..
ReplyDeletemlawson17 at hotmail dot com
That is so adorable, that your little boy wanted the real deal. And he looks so cute in it, I can believe he is a big hit at signings!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite man in a kilt is some model, he wears a black kilt and nothing covering his amazing chest. But when I think man in a kilt it's a fictional character, the man who brought me back to romance books. Drustan MacKeltar from Kiss of the Highlander. *sigh*
Congrats on the release!!
ReplyDeleteI have to go with Sean Connery.
