A New Season, A New Cover!

Good morning, Casa ladies, readers, and fans. I’m pleased to be with you at this fabulous blog site where there is always something new, wonderful, and exciting to read each day. Thank you for having me.

Since we just had a change of seasons, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about my favorite season, and it’s not spring, summer, or fall. No, my preferred season is the London Season during the Regency. As for the temperature during the Season in London days could have a nip in the air and nights could be downright chilly, but a swift glance across a crowded room, the brush of a hand while dancing, or a stolen moment on a balcony could heat up the temperature to boiling between lovers.

The London Season was a time for grand ballrooms filled with impeccably dressed gentlemen and beautifully gowned ladies. It was a time for expensive, wispy lace, fine cotton chemises, and jeweled hair combs for ladies, and perfectly tied neckcloths, cutaway coats, and shiny Hessian knee boots for gentlemen. But the gentleman would never wear those sexy boots to a ball! It was the Season for gossip whispered behind fans, printed in the tittle-tattle sheets, and discussed in drawing rooms and gentlemen clubs.

I now have nine published Regency books and most, but not all, of them have been set during the London Season. The book I’m touting today is set during the London Season. And, as you might have already guessed, it’s all about gossip. Millicent Blair has been summoned to London for the Season by her ailing aunt—not to enjoy the parties and balls, but to take over her aunt’s famous gossip column. And it just so happens that the devilish rogue who’s caught her eye, Lord Dunraven, has reason to hate scandal sheets and the nameless people who write them.

I happily and quickly point out that this book is the second in five reprints that Sourcebooks will be publishing from my backlist. I’m absolutely thrilled with the new and fabulous cover they put on the book. I’ve added a copy of the original cover so you can see what a big difference a few years can make in a cover!

So, please enter the unforgettable Regency world I’ve created and join me for the London Season where the gossip is always fresh, sexy, and exciting, and a new scandal is always brewing.

Lord Dunraven is obsessed with catching the thief who stole a priceless heirloom from him. When he keeps finding London newcomer Miss Millicent Blair in places she shouldn’t be, his suspicions are aroused…
But Millicent’s real secret isn't what the earl thinks—and every encounter increases the attraction between the powerful earl and the lovely Miss.

  2. You said it Amelia--the BEST season is the Regency Season. I'm surrounded from time to time by Civil War re-enactors, otherwise sane fellows who tromp around in the summer heat and humidity wearing wool and carrying heavy packs, and I have to wonder: Wouldn't re-enacting a Regency ball be MUCH more fun? A musicale? A Venetian breakfast?

WHEN can we go driving in Hyde Park?! Priorities, people!

  5. Your books sounds like great fun with that particular conflict. A scandal sheet writer of that time as a heroine, how delightful.
